A fanfic rec, so well done :)

Hi, well, I had to share this stories 'cause they are awesome and I think they haven't been well loved. They are long, well written and totally cool!! Enjoy :)

Ressurrection-verse

Summary

Doom brings Steve back from the dead. Hijinks ensue, some of which might vaguely be considered plot.

Readjustment by , Summary

The sequel to Resurrection, Reconstruction, and Redemption. The various Avengers head to Washington to deal with Registration, and end up having to deal with each other. Meanwhile, Steve continues adjusting to life, Tony continues to have Issues, and they get used to the whole relationship thing.

Edit: Well, I'm so glad people knows and loves this stories!!! I thought they weren't known 'cause I only found them in Ao3 and they have so little reviews and kudos there, and they are so awesome!! I'm totally new to the fandom so maybe that's why I had no idea they where classics, but I have to say, this kind of classics are worth reading again ;). Be well

I also love this fic! I'm not so sure why it's so rare to see it recommended...

...We must all be looking in different places because this (very awesome) series is like a fandom standard.

Yes, this is what I thought too. It's on all the rec lists I have bookmarked (and I'm newish on this com, having discovered the awesome fanfic for this ship in November last year.)

Isn't RR&R the fic that is supposed to have lit up this fandom and really got it going?

I wasn't around the time it was published, but from what I'm vaguely remembering from other people's discussions it was basically the big flagship for this pairing, yeah.

Maybe it's not recced because it is so fandom-classic we can't conceive that it isn't? It's like when you find out a friend doesn't know how to swim or ride a bike. There's a moment of cognitive dissonance--I mean, owning my cultural standards and privileges or whatever, but (to me) it feels like such a basic life skill that I can't comprehend. It's downright weird.

Or possibly that the sequels are on this comm only, AFAIK? Archiving and downloading is a little more of a hassle, especially for the WIP continuation (which has hit a point of allllllllmost there)

For the record, since I expect you might be interested, they have several other long, plotty stories that have never been posted to the AO3. You can find the LJ posts for them here on the comm by looking up elspethdixon's and seanchai's author tags. :)

how much of the comics do you need to know to read this? I read another of their stories and I kinda struggled but it was worth it. I am only well-versed in the movie verse and wikipedia confuses me about the comics generally.....

IDK, I really like them, but at times they make me extremely uncomfortable to the point of nearly clicking the back button. The way everyone refers to people with mental health issues as damaged, broken, crazy, not-normal, incomplete, etc etc etc is really not appreciated. As someone who has, and sometimes still does, struggle with mental health and had friends, lovers, and family members do the same, I/we get that enough from people and society in general. I know it's a common enough thought process that seeing it reflected in some fictional characters is to be almost expected. But repeatedly? From all of them? With not one person going "yeah, we/they have problems, but would you refer to us/them like that if they had, say, a club foot or asthma?" It verges into dehumanizing and it hurts. Norm is not normative and the mythical "normal" does not exist.
