No srsly, I'm home sick, so I'm going to play lots of DCU Online and WoW and hang out with my buddies there. And I am making myself plain white rice to settle my tummy. Plain rice is the food of romance.

And I feel I should clarify that I'm not sneering at the whole of Valentine's Day, just the parts (a) overflowing with sap and/or (b) the parts in which you are a Bad Person if you do not purchase x, y, and z items for your beloved. If I see another overwrought diamond commercial I may fling something through the television.

I've had a lot of luck with plain bread (for an acidy stomach) or milk (for "hungry yet nauseous").

Yeah, I get that. :D I baked for work (it was purely an excuse to make rainbow cupcakes). I kind of hate Valentines because it's just another excuse to browbeat people who aren't dating. Answering "nothing special" to questions about your plans seems to be a sin to some people. :| Not to mention the "when will you give me (great-)grandchildren" questions.

Hooray rainbow cupcakes! :DDDDD As a singleton, that's the part of Valentine's I like- when you get to tell your friends and family that you dig them.

What in God's name is going through people's heads when they ask this? I've taken to smiling gently and replying, "When I find someone I like enough to have kids with." Then I make my escape to the kitchen to make myself another cocktail. Oy.

LOL Also single! I haven't really done anything for the day since I was a kid. It's not even a good day for chocolates, since I like dark, and everything is milk. On the other hand, heart shaped sprinkles. So it all balances out. :D

My problem is that the answer is a somewhat long-winded version of "never", which no one seems think is an acceptable answer. According to my paternal grandma (who has been asking forever), it's that at any moment my biological clock will kick in and I'll pounce on the first guy who crosses my path, so clearly I should get this out of the way while I'm able to control myself.

Days like that, I hope I end up with a woman, just to spite her lol. :D

I bought strawberry milk at the cafeteria. It is pink, so that counts as my celebration, as far as I'm concerned.

Oh, and bought my ticket and requested off for C2E2, Chicago's comic con. I'm excited about that.

Pink milk completely counts. As do convention tickets. :D I may be a teeny bit jealous.

Rainbow cupcakes went over splendidly. From my office, I can hear everything in the main room (where the cupcakes were). There were many sounds of, "Hey, cupcakes... (nom) RAINBOWS!"
