Rec Week #1

Rec week is back for Cap and Iron Man's 50th anniversary!
This week's theme is non-Civil War fix-its. We're looking for canon or close-canon AUs that "fix" something, be it an event, wonky characterization, logic fail, etc. We're excluding Civil War because CW fix-its have always been popular, and we want to see the other stuff for a change! Recs can be for fics, art, or any other fan-made work that fits the theme.
Comment on this post with your rec(s). Please include:

Basic plot or premise
Why you're recommending the piece

We're also doing a secondary fun theme each week, highlighting trends we've noticed in the fandom. For example, it seems that there's one particular villain always willing to throw down for a good action scene, so give us When Doombots Attack!

Universe Avenger Assembled
Basic plot or premise After a routine battle with Doom, Tony stumbles across one of his damaged and abandoned Doom Dogs. True to Stark impulsiveness, Tony gathers its wounded pieces and takes it home to rebuild.
Why you're recommending the piece Doom's Robot dogs count as Doombots right? In this Tony "rescues" one and fixes it. It made me laugh and smile and Doom was not pleased that Tony's dog was an improvement over the original design.

Title Family Old and New
Author Pookaseraph
Universe Marvel 616
Basic plot or premise When Ian Rogers finally comes to Earth from Dimension Z, his father is in no state to help him adjust, which leaves him relying on the Avengers, unable to forget the violence of his home, and hiding the secret he's sure they will hate him for.
Why you're recommending the piece Ian Rogers fix-it. This was the fic that introduced the concept of Ian Rogers to me and broke my heart because he was already "dead" in the comics. I think what I love the most about this story is the interactions between Ian and Tony. I also like that Steve can't immediately make a move on Tony once he's able to. He's got his own mental stuff he has to deal with from the whole Dimension Z fiasco.
