Summary: It's easy to make bad decisions when there's no one left to stop you. (An AU where there's no such thing as time bullets. Steve dies on the courthouse steps. A year later Tony wakes up with no memory of the war and fails spectacularly at coping with the fallout.)
Notes: What if Steve hadn't come back to life before Tony wiped his own mind? This is a Siege up through the present (and futureficcing into Superior Iron Man) AU with a happy ending. Yes. A happy ending. Thanks to captainshellhead for beta!

(Originally I had been planning not to post to the community until I had finished a bingo line, but as that is taking longer than I expected, here is a list of everything Steve/Tony that isn't for the bingo that I have written in the meantime: Orient (incursion-related vignette), snow.txt (a story in which itty-bitty Tony used to write h/c about him and Steve and the Invaders), Shakedown (early-canon Avengers h/c).
