This continues to be my favorite thing Magic has written; it's basically canon-divergence for Hickmanvengers at the point of Infinity and is, basically, a quest for the gems and a massive incursions fix-it. My favorite moment in the story is a scene of pure perfect heartbreaking angst (to describe it further would be to spoil it) that at this length the story has more than earned. Glorious. (Also, Steve's line "you were my future" pretty much sums up the entire pairing for me right here.)

Every time Teyke posts a story I think, "Wow, this is so good; Teyke needs to post more fic!" And every time Teyke posts a 616 fic I think, "Wow, Teyke needs to post ALL THE 616 FIC EVER." This is a 616 AU set in a vaguely-Japan fantasy world, where Steve is a samurai and Tony a swordsmith, and it is just so much glorious fun. I think Doom steals the show, but it's awesome. Also the Steve/Tony/Rumiko threesome is filthy in the best of ways.
One Thing Leads to Another (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3342596) by missbecky, 11,753 words.
An awesome Avengers Annual story. I refer to the annual for volume 5, in which Tony gets the Tower to call Steve "Captain Handsome." This is a lovely first time story that explores just why Tony did that, and also features them vacationing together on an island and nothing bad happens at all, I swear. So, so sweet.
616/MCU
Grace Period (http://archiveofourown.org/works/441562) by Kroki_Refur, 54,322 words (WIP).
This is a WIP, but it was updated within the last few months -- and besides, what there is already is great. You might be tempted to ignore this because it's gen, but by "gen" I mean "Tony has exactly the same level of intense feelings about Steve as in canon" so I'm pretty happy with that. Anyway, it's a fic where MCU Steve, only just out of the ice, falls into post-CW 616... and naturally everyone thinks he's their Steve, and since one weird future is much like another, he doesn't know it's a different place either. This story is amazing and the characters are perfectly done.
Noir
Treasure, Explosions and Romance (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3065741) by runningondreams, 13,032 words.
One of my favorite Noir fics, a rollicking action/adventure story that contains exactly what the title promises. I reread this one a lot; it makes me so happy. The action scenes especially are perfect -- and the UST combines so well with them. Yay!

Notes: I was iffy about the summary because I couldn't imagine reading a fic with Captain America as a revolutionary war hero. But I'm so glad I read it. The world building in this is incredible -- seriously, read it for the world building. Though, the SteveTony moments are just as awesome. I seriously haven't read such a tender sex scene like this in a while.

Now, why would I rec two fics I've never read? Because what I know of one author and what little I managed to make through the other, I can tell you that these are both well researched Classical era fic. Which is pretty rare, from what I've seen. So go, read the fic and let me live vicariously through you since I cannot. Classical era needs more love. Learn things. You won't regret it.
