Sign-ups for Cap/IronMan Fanfic Remix 2018 are now open!

Sign-up form on AO3

(If you need an AO3 account, you can request one here. If time is running out, please contact us and we’ll try to get you an invite.)

Sign-ups will remain open until 22pm GMT on January 7th (When is that in my time zone?)

Remember that you need to have written at least 3 Steve/Tony stories of 1000 words or more to sign-up (not counting crossovers and WIPs).

Exchange Sign-Up Guide

Navigate to the current Remix Exchange collection on Ao3.

On the collection’s left sidebar, click “Sign-Up Form”

You should see a sign-up form split into two sections, “Requests (1)” and “Offers (1).”

The Requests portion pertains to works you have written. In this section you will help us match you to a remixer familiar with the canon you have written for, and provide information to help your remixer find your eligible works.

If you have at least one eligible fic set in the universe, you may check the box next to it. The list is bigger than the box, so be sure to scroll to the bottom to see all options.

Alternatively, if you have written in all of the listed fandoms, you may use the “Any Fandom” option.

If you are unsure whether you meet the eligibility requirement, please check the Remix Exchange Rules and FAQ. If your question is not resolved, please reach out to the mods.

Link to Fanworks

In the “Find my Steve/Tony fic HERE (link):” field, provide a link to your Steve/Tony fanworks for your remixer. This can, for example, be a link to your Work’s Page on Ao3, or a compiled link list from tumblr.

On Ao3, you can optionally provide a filtered list for your remixer--but note that if you have created works for 3490, this will filter out Steve/Natasha Stark.

You can also narrow your Ao3 work list for your remixer by clicking “Complete Only”

Click “Sort and Filter”

The page will reload. Copy the entire URL of the filtered page and paste it into the sign-up form field.

On Tumblr, if your Steve/Tony works are tagged uniquely, you can provide a filtered list with the following link format: [yourblog].tumblr.com/tagged/[tag], where [yourblog] is your tumblr blog name, and [tag] is the unique tag for your fanworks

Additional Info Field

The “Additional Info” is primarily used for communicating which stories in your fanwork listing are not eligible to be remixed. These include:
- One safe story: a fic you do not want remixed (no need to provide an explanation for why)
- WIPs: please list your current WIPs
- Previous Remixes: You may list them, or indicate how they are identified, e.g. “All Remixes have ‘Remix’ in the title.”
- Co-written Works: If it is not easy to identify co-authored works, please list them.

You have now finished the Request portion of the sign up!

The Offer Section is where you tell us what you would like to read and use as source material for your remix. In this section you do not have to have previously written in the universes you select.

If you are are comfortable reading and remixing any of the fandoms listed, then you may opt to use the “Any Fandom” button instead.

Almost done! Once you’ve selected your offer fandoms, click “Submit.”

Verifying and Editing Your Sign-up

After submitting your sign up, you will see a “My Sign-up” link in the left sidebar of the collection. Click it to see the information you submitted.

Under your sign-up Request, click on the link to your Steve/Tony stories and verify that it works. If it doesn’t, check to see if the URL got cut-off.

If the link doesn’t work, or you realize you made a mistake, click the “Edit Sign-up” button to be taken back to the form.

Once you’ve finished your edits, click “Update” to save.
