We talk (read: scream) a lot about why didn't Tony call the Avengers with the Mandarin? Why didn't Steve call Tony with Insight? I think I'm going to convince myself that it was because Steve and Tony are both mutually pining after each other, but they're both stubborn so neither wanted to be the first to crack.

LOL yeah... a lot doesn’t make sense when u think about the movies too hard (and by too hard I mean just asking any question at all). Mutually pining after each other is always a great explanation.

I really love Tony building the DIY (yes, uh, I know, technically they’re all DIY) low cost Iron Man suit, and his consequent invasion of the Mandarin’s hideout. Also, the sass there.

I do NOT like that he blows up all the suits ... all that time and money and all the precious metals ... at least recycle? Wouldn’t have made for nice visuals I guess...

Yeah I totally agree with you on the blowing up the suit part. Like I understand it, and I understand the symbolism behind it (and the need for cool FX) but practically speaking.. it is a bit wasteful xD especially since he just turns around and starts building again.

I also LOVE the whole sequence of him in the Mandarin's hideout. It's just... he so resourceful. Kind of makes me think of the First Iron Man when the scientist was like "It can't be done, we can't make it smaller," and Obie was just all "Tony did this in a cave. With a box of scraps." It really just highlights how resourceful he is!
