So second and third on the poll for things comm members were interested in were Monthly Prompts and Discussion Posts. After talking it over, Team Mod has decided that we might try combing the two.
We feel that the Women of Cap/IM series ran pretty well, and that something similar could work long term. Especially with prior warning, and planning, and maybe even cake!
So, we plan to run a series of monthly prompts with associated discussion posts. It will work like this:
With that in mind, here's the table of prompts for the next year. We thought that if we put some structure into monthly prompts, we could carry on indefinitely. We have four categories of prompts (Characters, Genre, Universe/Era and Misc) that will rotate through them, with a free month every August to off set the schedule (so Misc doesn't land on Black History Month every year).

Since it's the fifteenth (already! OMG! What happened to July?), here's the first prompt: Avengers!
The Avengers brought Steve and Tony together and have helped keep them together for many years (depending on the universe). Over the years in 616, we've seen them both involved in a lot of teams. Tony helped founded the classic Avengers, then went off to join the West Coast Avengers for a while; he's also been a New Avenger, a Mighty Avengers and set up the Avengers Initiative. Even though Steve wasn't there on that day with the Hulk, he's also considered a Founding Avenger, as well as having started the New Avengers, ran the Secret Avengers, and mentored the Young Avengers. Neither of them has been on the Great Lakes Avengers, but if all y'all really want to do a Squirrel Girl post, we'll... I'd be entertained -g- And, of course, there's the Ultimates and the MA Avengers.
What does the team mean to them? How has it affected their relationship? What about their relationships with other teammates? Or some outsider POV (what does the Hulk think about our favourite couple?) If you've been thinking about ensemble team adventures, teamy!love h/c, and/or deep dark angst about not fitting with the team anymore, August is the month to finish it up and post it.
Meta Sign Ups: Avengers
Who's your favourite Avenger and why? Pick someone (not Steve or Tony) and post all about them. Or pick a topic (such as Steve or Tony's memorable Avengers moments, or the fourteen times Steve Rogers quit the team) and post about that

We like squee, thinky thoughts, scans (so long as they're locked), silliness and laments on why something really just didn't work for you. Have at and have fun.

So, we plan to run a series of monthly prompts with associated discussion posts. It will work like this:
- I'll post a schedule for the next twelve monthly prompts here.
- Also here, and in the middle of each month, one of us will make a post about the next month's prompt with sign ups for discussion posts.
- This will give everyone time to plan their posts.
- Once the month starts, members who signed up can post their discussion posts on the date they signed up for.
- Any one who decided to write fic/make art for the prompt can post it as and when they like.
- Tags will be available for each month, making keeping track of everything super easy.
- People who aren't participating in the monthly prompts can go on with life in the comm as usual. Keep posting fic and art! Following the prompts is totally optional.
- The newsletter will make mention of what month it is, and keep track of all posts made.
