Discussion Question Wednesday!
Today we are going to talk to about tropes. In fact one trope in specific, which is a staple of the Steve and Tony fandom and that's Identity Porn.
Identity porn: What do you like about it and what would you like to see more of?
Being Superheroes and having had secret identites, Identity Porn is a no brainer for Steve and Tony. Tony especially with the metal suit and his history in the comics of having to juggled the identity of Tony Stark, patron and businessman; and Iron Man, bodyguard and superhero. When Steve does finally find out, it is when Molecule Man stripes Tony of his armor reveal the wearer to be Tony Stark. Steve also discovers that all Tony was wearing under his armor was the infamous red thong.
In the MCU verse, they even made a nod to this by having SHIELD originally giving Tony speech cards announcing that Iron Man was his bodyguard, but MCU!Tony was having none of that.
So let's hear your thoughts, what do you think of Identity Porn. Why do you like it? Do you have particular favorite scenarios? Are there things you wish you saw more of?
