Weekly IRC Chat Time!

It is time for another official chat! The ever lovely Salma is off running around in movie theaters today, so I'll be serving soda, popcorn, and hosting the chat until she makes her triumphant return.

Those of you eager to discuss Age of Ultron can happily find your way to #cap-im-spoilers. Haven't yet seen the movie? We'll also be in #cap-im (I shall be in both, as will, I'm sure, many others)!

Come chat and socialize and fun. And, as always, lurkers are welcome.

Just remember the #cap-im-spoilers channels is where the Age of Ultron chat is happening. Please keep Age of Ultron discussion out of the main channel for now. There was a more detailed post on the coms spoiler policy you can read here.

Next chat is planned for Friday, May 8! Don't forget that you can log into the irc channel at any point during the week. Normally, there will be other people around.

As a reminder we have a channel #cap-im-spoilers for things like Age of Ultron or new tv and comic releases. If no one is currently in there, just stop by the regular channel and let people know you want to talk about spoilers. :) To get to this channel use the same method you would for #cap-im but type #cap-im-spoilers instead; alternatively, once you are connected to IRC, type '/join #cap-im-spoilers' in the command line.

The #cap-im and #cap-im-spoilers IRC channels are on DALnet. If you’re using a regular irc client the server is irc.dal.net and the channel is #cap-im and/or #cap-im-spoilers. There are three different options below of web clients. If one doesn't work try a different one.

Got to https://kiwiirc.com/client. Type in the nickname you wish to use. The channel name is #cap-im or #cap-im-spoilers. There will be a little blue link that opens up the server and network info. Click on that and enter irc.dal.net as the server and 6667 as the port. Here is an example of what it looked like when I filled it out.

Teyke found yet another web client option if the two above aren't working. Go to http://www.wsirc.com/ and fill out the box to the right like Teyke's example below.


The http://www.dal.net/ web client sometimes doesn't work, but people still have used it successfully to join the the chat. Under Chat Now fill in your nickname, and #cap-im or #cap-im-spoilers.

We're officially live! If you want to sign up for this year's marvel_bang, head over to our LJ and check out the rules. You'll find links there to the Google sign-up forms there. You do not need a LiveJournal account to sign up, so don't worry if you don't have one and don't want one! We'll work with you.

Check out the rules for each of the sign-up categories: author/author team, accompanying fanworker/artist, beta/cheerleader, tandem author/artist, or solo fanworker.
