Community news:

We have several ongoing events right now, and time seems to be zipping right along this fall! Writers are working on their Big Bang drafts (just one more week before submissions!) and the newest support post for those looking for encouragement, commiseration or wanting to share their excitement can be found here. The Tiny Reverse Bang is still going strong with LIBERTY this week and the last round, MARVEL, beginning this weekend. That event will wrap up on the same day as BB claims—September 26th—so if you want to write for any of the previous rounds keep in mind that only submissions posted before Friday October 2nd will be included in the event round-up and awarded badges.

STONY Bingo is still open for anyone who wants to try their hand at completing a line (or more!) before January 31st, and we've announced a new event for this winter, a remix challenge! If you are interested in joining navaan as a moderator for such an event, please email us at cap.im.mods@gmail.com before 12:00 AM PST on Thursday September 17th.

We also have some housekeeping notes this month. Myself, teyke and navaan were confirmed as community mods for the next year in a community vote; thanks to everyone who voted! We hope to keep everything running smoothly and to make sure you all have plenty of opportunities to have fun in this fandom. For anyone interested in either being or finding a beta, we are compiling an updated beta reader list in this post. Also, navaan has done some fantastic work with transferring the slashy moments list over to tumblr, and we're accepting any ideas or submissions people have for new moments (we've missed a lot over the last few years!) in this post on lj, and in the #slashy moments list tag on tumblr for comics, AA, EMH, and the MCU. We currently don't have anything in the archive for any of the non-comics canons, so it's high time we caught up!

Marvel news:

It's a busy time for Steve and Tony in canon as well as fandom this month—Elizabeth Olsen recently confirmed the main villain of Captain America: Civil War, and filming has now officially wrapped. Avengers Assemble is finishing up its second season this Sunday, with the third season beginning in 2016 (exact date TBD). In comics, Secret Wars continued with Civil War issues #3 & #4, Armor Wars #4 (with #5 released this week), 1872 #2, Giant-Size Little Marvel AvX #4, and Captain America White (released this week). Bendis continues to tease news about the upcoming Invincible Iron Man run, and in a lovely turn of events we have both a panel of in-uniform!Steve and Tony together at a party (Earth-3490, Secret Wars, Secret Love) and matching panels of tux-wearing!Steve and Tony courtesy of Kris Anka.
