CAP-IRONMAN Holiday Exchange 2017

It’s the fifth day of reveals! Each day we will be revealing the gifts created by participants of the 2017 Cap-Ironman Holiday Exchange and Community Gifts. Over the next days the creators’ identities will be hidden. On January 7th, we will reveal all of the creators who participated this year.

Here are today’s gifts!

ExpandREVEALED GIFTS )

To check out all of this year’s gifts (so far!), head over to the 2017 Captain America/Iron Man Holiday Exchange.

When your gift is revealed, please be sure to comment and thank your gifter!

If you’re the creator of a gift that’s been revealed, you can reply to anyone who comments on your work and it will show up as “Anonymous Author” until the creator reveals, so please feel free to comment as much as you like.

We’ll be announcing all the gifts for today on Dreamwidth, and you can share the tumblr post with everyone!

Finally, you may want to change the publication date of your work to today’s date, to help it show up in the AO3 listings for recent works. AO3’s guide is available here and there is a more detailed guide on how to do so here.

Thanks,

FestiveFerret, Laireshi, Navaan, Salma, and Tisfan

It's time for the 2018 Cap-Iron Man Reverse Bang! If you haven't participated before, the Reverse Bang is an annual cap-ironman event where artists submit art to be claimed by authors for fics (the opposite of the Big Bang, where authors create fics, which artists then claim and produce art for). This year, the event will officially run from January through May 2018.

Here are some important dates to remember:

Earliest art submission acceptance: Monday, January 1st, 2018

Art submission deadline: Wednesday, February 14th, 11:59pm PST (what time is it for me?)

(art will be available for viewing a minimum of 24 hours before claims begin)

Author claims: Saturday, February 17th (exact hour TBA)

(first-come first-served, initially 1 claim per author)

Posting date claims: Saturday, April 21st

(via Doodle, first-come first-served)

Posting begins: Sunday, April 29th

This year's mods are laireshi, magicasen, FestiveFerret, miniraven, and Kiyaar. We're all very excited to get started. Keep an eye out for motivation and check-in chats in the next few weeks. Questions? See the rules below or send us an email at cap.im.events@gmail.com.

Basic art submission guidelines:

1. Art must focus on Steve and Tony. As per the community guidelines, non-Steve/Tony relationships or moresomes involving other characters are not allowed. Moresomes involving multiple versions of Steve or Tony are welcome. Art may depict Steve or Tony separately, but please recognize that this is a Steve/Tony event.

2. All participating art must be submitted to cap.im.events@gmail.com by the art deadline. Art does not need to be finished, but characters should be recognizable without labels. It should include a universe label or be labeled “any”. If there are specific story elements you do NOT want to see in your partnered fic (major squicks and triggers) please tell the mods in your submission email so that we can include that information up front. Note about the “any” label: only use it if you're sure you're okay with getting a fic written in any Marvel Universe: MCU, 616, Noir, EMH, etc. Otherwise, please only specify the universes you're okay with the story being set in.

3. Art should be original work and should not have been previously posted anywhere. Similarly, as this is a collaborative event, art created for this event should not be posted for commercial sale until six months after the event has ended.

4. Artists should keep their identities as secret as possible from the larger community. Art posted for claims will not include artist names and should remain anonymous to all but the paired author(s).

5. Traditional and digital art are both acceptable for art submissions. Art entries may include more than one piece of art, but the art must all fit together into the same story.

6. Manips and fanmixes/fanmix covers will not be accepted for art submissions.

7. Each creator may submit a total of two distinct works to the event (in any combination of art and fic).

8. You must be over 18 to participate in this event.

Basic fic accompanying RBB art guidelines:

1. Fic must be based on your claimed RBB art.

2. Fic must be written specifically for this event. It can’t be an old, unposted work or a WIP.

3. Fic must focus on Steve and Tony. The end goal does not have to be romantic, but Steve and Tony and their relationship (shippy or gen) should be central to any work produced. As per the community guidelines, non-Steve/Tony relationships or moresomes involving other characters are not allowed. Moresomes involving multiple versions of Steve or Tony are welcome.

Edit (4/4/2018): Regarding the inclusion of additional pairings: Steve/Tony must be the main relationship and focus of your work. Non-Steve/Tony relationships or moresomes involving other characters are not allowed as the endgame ship. Other than that, how you choose to make that happen is up to you.

4. Fic written for this event must exceed 5,000 words in length. You must post a complete fic to accompany the finished art at your chosen posting day in May.

6. You must be over 18 to participate in this event.

Check out the RBB Discord Server for questions, concerns and chatter!

Authors and artists who have failed to complete a previous challenge will not be allowed to participate in this event unless a full year has passed, they have completed the original challenge, or they have demonstrated equivalent ability as per comm policy. If you have questions or concerns about banning in our events, please email the general mods at cap.im.mod@gmail.com.
