What's a Big Bang? A big bang is a collaborative event between writers and artists, meant to encourage the finishing of longer stories (in our event, 25,000 words or more). Writers will create a story, artists will claim a story based on the summary and create an accompanying work for it.

Whether you're a seasoned writer who has participated in the Cap-IM Big Bang in the past, or an aspiring author hoping to get started on the longfic of their dreams, we want to see your Steve/Tony story! You have plenty of time to start writing, and we'll be here cheering you on.

No need to sign up or pre-commit. As long as you submit a draft of your story before the end of September 23rd, then congratulations—you're part of this year's Big Bang!

For more information on how to join, please read through the 2020 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang Event Guidelines.

Title: Put the Past Aside
Universe: MCU
Pairing(s): Steve/Tony
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 3347
Author's Notes: Post Infinity War/Canon divergent from when they get Tony back from space in Endgame.
Summary:

“Tony, I—you were right, I said we’d face this together and we didn’t, and that’s on me,” Steve says, putting the cup down on the counter and sticking his hands in his pockets. “But this—the world has changed, and we need to stay together. We need to be a team. You taught me that. So, you can yell at me, you can throw things at me, whatever you need to do. But I’m not going anywhere.”

Tony huffs, the slightest of noises, but it’s something. Steve’s at a loss as to what to do next, but he’s not leaving, so he takes his hands out of his pockets and sits back down in the chair by Tony’s bed. Tony stares at him, and Steve stares right back, daring him to say something, to do something. To give some indication that there’s still the Tony he once knew in there.

But he doesn’t.
