2019 Rec Week: Artful Tuesday!

Every year we ask the Cap-IM community to rec all kinds of fanworks for the different themes of rec week, but traditionally most recs have been for fic. Our community is also lucky to have dozens of talented artists who create fantastic Steve/Tony artworks and comics and post them on a variety of platforms. Artful Tuesday is our special day for art recs, so tell us about all the beautiful Steve/Tony art you've seen and give our artists some love!

Note: Please mark major warnings for your recs, and if you have time, let us know why you’re reccing a work.

2019 Rec Week Themes and Schedule

All New Monday, July 15th: Works posted any time after the end of the 2018 Reverse Big Bang (mid-June).
Artful Tuesday, July 16th: A rec day highlighting fanart specifically! Come and rec all the art.
Angsty Wednesday, July 17th: Bring on all the angst!
Fluffy Thursday, July 18th: Rec your favorite warm fluff works.
Fix-It Friday, July 19th: All fix-its, all day.
Kiss-It-Better Saturday: July 20th: Hurt/Comfort of any kind.
Cap-IM Sunday, July 21st: Rec all your favorite works created for one of the Cap-Iron Man challenges!

There are several different ways to participate:

• Comment with your recs on the themed daily posts that will go up on our Dreamwidth and Livejournal communities. (Anon commenting allows everyone to participate, even if they don’t have an account.)


• Reply to each rec day's Tumblr post that will go up on our Cap-Iron Man Tumblr with your recs.


• Make a Tumblr post with your recommendations, @ the cap-ironman Tumblr and tag it with #capimrecweek within the first five tags on the post. Please include the day’s theme somewhere in the body of the post. On the dedicated day we will reblog posts for the day’s theme on our community Tumblr and later include them in 2019 Rec Week masterlist.

Comment: Apparently it's blackout protocol that Tony goes shirtless and cuddles up with Steve under a blanket. No objections from me. Love the way they are leaning against each other with closed eyes. Nice animation as well.

Comment: Noir pre-serum!Steve clinging to a worried Tony. So much emotion in this one.

Break-up Beard by Grace (MCU)
Comment: A fancomic set during the beginning scenes of Endgame. Between getting Tony's signal and Tony arriving back on earth, Steve decides to shave his beard and his thoughts on why are the very sad and a bit bittersweet. Luckily, Natasha is there, too.

Comment: Steve pining and talking to Jarvis and the empty Iron Man armor in the workshop. Or is it? ... of course it isn't, Tony just happens to be stuck while the armor reboots. This is beautiful and sweet and funny and I completely adore the panel where Steve leans his forehead against the faceplate. And the image of the armor in the dark workshop, because of course Steve insists on not wasting power.

Comment: With a subtle identity reveal aspect, this art is a stunning look at Steve and Tony about-to-kiss, and the look of fearful anticipation is lovely!

Comment: I love the warm lighting and Steve's natural pose as he leans back on his motorbike. I wonder if Tony will invite him in for coffee?

Comment: I love the sky colours, which are a nice blend between the reds of Iron Man and the blues of Cap and connect the two figures to the background. The armour is gorgeous, the pose is adorable, and Steve and Tony both look so pleased!

Comment: The shading is beautiful and I love how it fades to white, so the focus is clearly on Steve and Tony. Stve is looking at his toes so he doesn't step on Tony, how cute! And the detail on the hands is amazing!

Comment: The colours are utterly gorgeous, and I love the stylized look of the background.

Comment: Listen, I love this pose! It's full of intimacy, and in contrast to the one above, Steve looks more solemn but with a tinge of fondness. Tony, meanwhile, is drunkenly affectionate, and the lighting really adds to the atmosphere of Timely!

Comment: friendly joking between two friends comfortable with each other is what the pose says to me, and I adore the shetchy look and slight sepia tones!

Comment: one of the artworks snowzapped did for the 2018 Cap-IM RBB, this one is a favourite because of the great perspective! It really looks like Steve is just hanging on, and the river is below them.

Comment: Natasha looks stunning, and Steve looks really proud and hopeful with his arm at her back. I love how Natasha is wearing super high heels and is still considerably shorter than Steve!
