2019 Rec Week: Kiss it Better Saturday!

On this day of rec week we ask for all the fanworks where some hurt—physical, mental or emotional—occurs and comfort is offered. It's Kiss It Better Saturday and we are asking you for all the Hurt/Comfort works you think more people should enjoy: we welcome recs for fics, artwork, podfics, vids, manips, edits and more!

Note: Please mark major warnings for your recs, and if you have time, let us know why you’re reccing a work.

2019 Rec Week Themes and Schedule

All New Monday, July 15th: Works posted any time after the end of the 2018 Reverse Big Bang (mid-June).
Artful Tuesday, July 16th: A rec day highlighting fanart specifically! Come and rec all the art.
Angsty Wednesday, July 17th: Bring on all the angst!
Fluffy Thursday, July 18th: Rec your favorite warm fluff works.
Fix-It Friday, July 19th: All fix-its, all day.
Kiss-It-Better Saturday, July 20th: Hurt/Comfort of any kind.
Cap-IM Sunday, July 21st: Rec all your favorite works created for one of the Cap-Iron Man challenges!

There are several different ways to participate:

• Comment with your recs on the themed daily posts that will go up on our Dreamwidth and Livejournal communities. (Anon commenting allows everyone to participate, even if they don’t have an account.)


• Reply to each rec day's Tumblr post that will go up on our Cap-Iron Man Tumblr with your recs.


• Make a Tumblr post with your recommendations, @ the cap-ironman Tumblr and tag it with #capimrecweek within the first five tags on the post. Please include the day’s theme somewhere in the body of the post. On the dedicated day we will reblog posts for the day’s theme on our community Tumblr and later include them in 2019 Rec Week masterlist.

Care and Comfort (MCU, 1079 words) by MusicalLuna
Summary: Tony offers to preen Steve's wings. It's been a long time since anyone did something so intimate for Steve.
Comment: Wingfic + post-battle h/c + Steve being touch-starved = a lovely and quiet moment between them, pretty early on in their relationship. (Pre-slash, part of a fic series that ends with them together.)

So Far Away From Me (616, 2679 words) by Sineala
Summary: Captain America has a new hotline, and Tony is a frequent caller -- but for a very unusual reason.
Comment: This is set during Tony's second drinking arc and gives him some much needed comfort during a time when he just got sober and is trying to rebuilt his life while Stane does his very best to destroy it again.

All Better (Ults, 4747 words) by FestiveFerret
Summary: The first time it happened, Steve almost clocked Tony in the face.
Comment: Tony starts kissing Steve's injuries better! This being Ults, it takes Steve some time to sort his feelings on that. I love the progression in this fic, both of the injuries in question and of their relationship.

Let My Hands Do the Soothing (616, 35251 words) by Sineala
Summary: Steve's always been determined to do the right thing, and when Tony is in more trouble than ever, he doesn't hesitate. Severely wounded by multiple attempts on his life, framed for an attack he never committed, Tony is on the run from the government, ready to hunt down the villain responsible and make him pay. But he doesn't have to do it alone. Steve is there for him. But keeping Tony in one piece is harder than Steve thought it would be, and caring for Tony is bringing up feelings that are difficult to keep buried...
Comment: One of my favourite go-to h/c fics. It's another one of those instances in canon where Tony goes through hell and back, injured and on the run, and you just wish that somebody was there to help and take care of him and have his back. Which is exactly what Steve does in this.
