Rules for ALL Participants
- You must be 18+ to participate.
- AI-generated work is not allowed in this or any Cap-IM event.
- This is a Steve/Tony event, so works must focus on Steve/Tony in any context - platonic, romantic, whatever - in any universe. A primary relationship that does not contain Steve/Tony does not belong in this event.
- Each creator may participate up to three times per RBB: art + fic, two art submissions and one fic, one art submission and two fics.
- Artists and writers can ask not to be matched with a specific creator when they submit or claim. Please sign up willing and open to working constructively with anyone.
- As you're working on your submission(s), please keep in mind that artworks are posted anonymously during claims. Do not post your art anywhere prior to claims.
- You must keep in touch with your collaborators for the duration of the event, coordinate with them during the posting period, and support each other creatively.
- Because this is a collaborative event, there is no penalty-free dropping out after claims. Your partner is counting on you, so if you run into trouble, let the mods know ASAP so we can work with you! Dropping after claims is a default and will incur the penalty of a temporary ban from some Cap-IM events.
- If you finish early, sit on it! Don't post your work anywhere else, partial or full, until your posting date.
Claims
After all art entries have been approved, they'll be available for claims on
FEB 22. Claims instructions for writers will go up with the art previews on
FEB 20.
To sign up as a writer, all you need to do is claim artwork on claims day.Writers can sign up solo or as part of a team: two writers working on one work, one writer writing, a second podding. The min word counts for each entry still apply.
Claims are anonymous and first-come, first-served; writers will claim art based solely on the artwork and submission details provided. All participants must be open to working with new people. Don't advertise which artwork is yours until after claims, and don't ask to be paired with a specific creator.
Writers may ask a mod to proxy claim on your behalf if you have a scheduling issue on claims day.
If claims go quickly, a second round of claims may open so more writers can participate. This allows for
double claims — one art claimed by two writers. There is no guarantee every story will be double claimed.
If art is double claimed, you will collaborate as a team of three creators. Two writers double claiming the same art may choose to make coordinating/complementary works or not, but must each post separate fics for their art.
Writers who want to create in a language other than English
must claim an art entry where the artist has indicated they are happy to receive works in that language.
Creation Period
Once your work has been claimed and your collaborator(s) have been assigned, all that's left is to create your RBB work if you are a writer or finish your art if you are an artist!
Writers must write a 5k+ fic or 2.5k+ podfic based on/inspired by their claimed art. Fic must be self-contained, newly created specifically for this event and your own work (i.e don't read a pod of someone else's work; don't write fic that's a remix of someone else's). There is no max wordcount;
your work must simply be complete at the time of posting. The RBB mods will send updates to event teams
via email, so please make sure you check your email regularly!
Keep in touch with your collaborator(s) and keep track of time as you write or finish up your art! Mods will check-in with teams twice during the creation period. This is a collaborative event and your creator team is counting on you.
Once you have claimed art, dropping out is considered a default and will incur a temporary ban.If you are an artist who has been double claimed, keep
both stories in mind if you decide to make additional art.
If you need creative support during the longish creation period, visit the #reverse-bang channel
on Discord to connect with other RBB creators.
Posting
Each RBB creator is responsible for posting their work on their scheduled posting day by
noon ET. Works must be complete as stand-alones. You must
link to your partner's work on ao3 once your whole team has posted. Post to the
2025 Collection.
ONE member of your entire team should fill out the
RBB Completion Form.
Please be aware that AO3 does not host images directly, so you need to use a different hosting service and retrieve a direct image link once you do. Please don't use tumblr, google drive, or discord to host - these links tend to break and your work will become inaccessible in the future. We recommend imgbb or imgur or similar. If you need help with hosting,
email us.
