Mod's Two Year Anniversary + Mod Elections

There is a poll concerning whether the moderator position should be put up for election or if the community would rather keep the current mods for another year. You can read it and vote here.

I thought quite a bit about what to do about our DW-only members. I only want community members to vote, but I don't want to give members who are on both LJ and DW the ability to vote twice. (I don't think anyone would, but I would feel obligated to check, and that would go back on my promise of not looking at the poll result details.)

If anyone has any suggestions, I will gladly hear them. I hate the idea of leaving anyone's voice out of a community-wide poll.

I think that you've got the best compromise you're going to get. DW does allow open-ID accounts to answer polls, but not everyone on the LJ comm is guaranteed to know the ins and outs of open-ID. As it is, the DW comm is more of an extension of the LJ comm (sad as that makes me), so it makes sense to host the poll over there.

I'm also not sure how it would work were we to run two polls and one called for an election while the other did not. Or would we just be adding the members together, idk.

I guess we could have a poll on an external site and invite all 1300 members via e-mail. But of the people who would be doing the drudge work for that one, I wouldn't be one.
