2020 Rec Week: Tropey Tuesday!
We all have fanwork tropes that we come back to time and again, both as creators and as audiences — accidental marriage, "they were roommates!", soulmate AUs, "team building exercises", the Avengers as cute animals…
Sometimes we may apologise for using an "overdone trope", but really, there is no such thing! As fandom likes to say, the more cakes the better! Today on Tropey Tuesday it's time to embrace all the tropes that we love. Our community is very lucky to have such a large selection of fanworks to engage with, and now is the time to celebrate the works that contain some (or all, if it's an ambitious work) of your most beloved tropes!
Note: Please mark major warnings for your recs, and if you have time, let us know why you’re reccing a work.

There are several different ways to participate:
- Comment with your recs on the themed daily posts that will go up on our Dreamwidth and Livejournal communities. (Anon commenting allows everyone to participate, even if they don’t have an account.)
- Reply to a day's Tumblr post that will go up on our Cap-Iron Man Tumblr with your recs.
- Make a Tumblr post with your recommendations, mention the @cap-ironman Tumblr and tag it with #capimrecweek within the first five tags on the post (you can DM or email us the link as well). Please include the day’s theme somewhere in the body of the post. On the dedicated day we will reblog posts for the day’s theme on our community Tumblr and later include them in 2020 Rec Week masterlist.

Summary: It was just a dream, Tony thinks, and ignores the gut feeling telling him otherwise. He really must have fallen asleep, and it was all just a dream, he didn't betray Steve like that...
Comment: Set right at the beginning of Hickmanvengers, a great time loop fix-it for the memory wipe.
Pining / Hurt/Comfort:
Clementine by Wikketkrikket (1872, 8297 words)
Summary: Ever since he was injured and his arm badly damaged in the incident with Fisk, Steve has been staying with Tony. He helps Tony stay off the drink and keep his ribbon, and Tony helps him tie his shoelaces. They're in love, but they aren't breaking any laws. Steve is very careful about that.
Except people are starting to talk anyway, and when a new Deputy arrives in town with suspicion in his eyes things get riskier than ever.
Comment: Great sense of longing and warmth in their relationship.
Hurt/Comfort:
Behind Closed Doors and Off the Record by Runningondreams (616, 3285 + 1455 words)
Summary: The Mansion is in shambles. Tony's life is in shambles. And then there's Steve. Solid, dependable Steve, doing his best to keep them all whole.
Sometimes, there are no good answers left.
/ Steve can't sleep, and when he can't sleep, he broods. After too many nights of restless dreams and nightmares, he hopes Tony can be the distraction he needs.
Comment: Post-Avengers:Disassembled h/c, with some melancholy and a lovely mix of familiarity/comfort and need between Steve and Tony.
