2022 Cap-IM Big Bang

This is the CLAIMS phase of the Big Bang, and where the artists come in! 8 fantastic drafts have been submitted and are awaiting artists to claim them.

By claiming a story, you assert that you will collaborate with your writer(s) to produce a new SteveTony fanwork to accompany their story when posting begins in November. There is no penalty-free dropping out after this point.

You do not need to be a member of the

cap_ironman community or have a Dreamwidth account to participate in claims. Anonymous comments are enabled. Commenting will open when the claiming phase begins.

November: BB entries are posted throughout the month

Please remember to read through our General Event Policies and the Big Bang Event Guidelines for all participants, as well as the Guidelines for Accompanying Fanworkers for this year’s challenge before claiming.

Any story is eligible to be claimed if the creator is planning to do an accompanying fanvid or traditional or digital artwork

Creators wanting to create an accompanying fanmix with cover art, manips or gifs can only claim stories where the writer has OPTED INTO receiving these art forms.

In addition to a new accompanying fanwork, claiming creators will be required to create a banner for their team.

This is a collaborative challenge; you are expected to keep in touch with your team for the duration of the challenge. You must coordinate with your partner during the posting period.

Claiming:
To claim a story on Saturday, September 17, you will need to leave a comment with the following information (copy and paste in your own details):

You can list as many code names as you are genuinely happy to work with. Two or three options are recommended as we cannot guarantee that you will get your first choice.

Claims will be made on a first-come, first-served basis and you will be assigned the first option that is still available on your list.

Initially, you may only claim once, and you will be assigned a single story. We will announce if/when double claims begin.

If the claim time is inconvenient for you, we encourage you to find someone to proxy claim for you. Your proxy comments on the claims post instead of you, providing your username, email and claims following the template above. You can email the mod team for assistance in finding a proxy.

If you have a specific concern and would like the mods to vet a story draft before you make your choices, please let us know at cap.im.events@gmail.com before claims begin.

Writers, remember that claiming creators have different schedules and timezones, and that though we try to accommodate everyone, your fic may not be claimed in the first few hours. Please be patient, and don’t look at claims as a competition This challenge is about pairing like-minded creators who will work together to produce exciting new Steve/Tony content; sometimes it takes a while for the right person to come along!

When matching is complete, we will send out emails to connect teams, along with further instructions.

Tony barely slept. Part of it was being back at the Hall; it brought back too many memories, and he rarely slept well the first night back here. Part of why he didn’t come often. He closed his eyes and he was picturing it, that feeling striking through his whole body and making him come alive all at once. More that he has to make himself look harmless. It’s strikingly the opposite of Cap, who has controlled power, but you can feel by being around the man that he would never use it to intimidate anyone. But this person, this version of Steve, is lethality tucked into tight muscles and blue eyes.

It’s in the way Steve watches him as Tony paces in front of the cage, wondering if this man really could get out, could hurt them, and if he would.

It was the first time that he would be boarding this ship, it travels the universe and yet he was never allowed to get on it no matter what, even when it was built by his family. He has never been allowed to do things that fancied him, nope he was an omega and omegas were only good for one thing when it came to high society, and that’s to find the perfect match. Sometimes he wished he had presented as a beta just so he would have a little bit of freedom, but sadly that was not the case for him, the universe really hated him sometimes. But now, he was going to have his chance at sailing across the stars, and at least he would have the chance to meet others who would, well he hopes, see his vision for a place for omegas, well outside of being married off to the highest bidder.

Right. Steven wipes his neck with the back of his hand, and there is a lot more blood than he had thought.

"The prince tried something." Steven reluctantly admits. "And failed."

That is also true. If the prince hadn't cared about the commander's life, he could have improvised a bit more of an escape plan. Not that it would have worked. Likewise Stark hadn't executed Steven, though that might have been because he didn't want to risk getting killed himself afterwards.

As planned, they'll now bring their prisoners to the encampment near the pass. Steven is curious to know how long it will take for Eisenstadt to realize they lost their prince.

“You would say that,” the green armor hissed. It sounded like the distorted terrible voice of the real Victor von Doom coming from one of Tony’s armors — and finally it sunk in that this wasn’t a joke. Victor von Doom was standing before him in an Iron Man armor as if he had any right to that name.

Tony was dead. Steve would never see him again.

Steve questions how he can be a good person and friend to Tony as he’s actively trying to encourage Tony to dump his girlfriend because of unspecified reasons and yet is also in love with him. They have a falling out, Steve is crushed, Tony is kidnapped by a Sentient Armor, things work out between Steve and Tony for a happy ending.

“Hey, I met someone,” Tony said as he pushed the dessert menu over to Steve.

Steve braced himself. Please don’t be a supervillain, please don’t be a supervillain.

Steve relaxed. Better than what it could have been. A contracts law firm didn’t sound immediately like a cover for an AIM or HYDRA division.
