Alan Moore knows the score...

I've been reading Alan Moore and Gene Ha's Top Ten lately which, for those of you who are unfamiliar with it, is about a police precinct in a city where everyone has superpowers.  And it is filled with little shout-outs, references, and jokes about other superhero comics in pretty much every panel.  And something about this panel from issue 9 just demanded that I share it with you all.

Why yes, that does say "Tools of Suspense featuring Iron Rod and Captain Hammer".  Now why on earth would Alan Moore pick our boys for the basis of his gay strip club?

For true! I have my copy of "The Forty-Niners" sitting on the shelf next to me; it is excellent.
(Now that I think about it, "Top Ten" crosses all sorts of traditionally squeamish boundaries, up to and including a relationship between a former prostitute and a superintelligent dog. What's more, Moore makes it all seem completely logical.)

(Also, is that Midnighter holding balloons in your icon? Love.)
