George Eads, dammit! C'mon, I can't be the only one who sees (http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/1699/captainamericav5013cbrpox6.jpg) a resemblence (http://lh4.ggpht.com/_h_hpB-xntaE/RfuKvnb-JuI/AAAAAAAAABE/dOCewdsUeRY/C:%5CDocuments+and+Settings%5Csameer%5CMy+Documents%5CMy+Pictures%5Ccsi%5CGeorge+Eads3.jpg).
My vote is on Marc Blucas, who played Riley Finn (http://buffy.wikia.com/wiki/Riley_Finn), Buffy's boyfriend and a member of the Initiative branch of the U.S. military. His character is already kinda like Captain America...although kinda like Sharon Carter as well.
Dammit. Um, let's try this again. (http://lh4.ggpht.com/_h_hpB-xntaE/RfuKvnb-JuI/AAAAAAAAABE/dOCewdsUeRY/C:%5CDocuments+and+Settings%5Csameer%5CMy+Documents%5CMy+Pictures%5Ccsi%5CGeorge+Eads3.jpg) If it still doesn't work, I'll find a different picture.
Nuh-uh. Mark Valley (http://www.boston-legal.org/big/big-brad-brick-cu-8-14-2006.jpg). Srsly (http://www.aolcdn.com/pmms/productpagecelebrity/03/07/2326657) you (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/43/MarkValley-PaleyFestival-5-15-2005.jpg) guys (http://www.boston-legal.org/10-hiredguns/hired-smirk-sm.jpg).
(He was actually in the military. You can't argue with that.)
He has that square jawed, all American features that would make Red Skull cream in his panties, you know?
Yes, plz. As long as it isn't Leonardo Di Caprio I'm happy. The movie is served best by having a good actor who isn't a household name, tied to a good, solid retelling of the canon.
Inorite? He's got that boyish face that can still go hard-ass when the situation calls for it, and he's also a great actor. I fell so hard for him (especially as Cap) the first time I saw him on Boston Legal.
I'm youtubeing him now... that's it. The thing is, I rarely see light haired and light eyed actors on the TV - not like it used to be back in the day. Nowadays, you have dark haired and light eyed actors, but light haired and light eyed actors (to the point of fair eyebrows and lashes)? Goddamn.
I hope the casting director is listening to you...
Oh, guess what, I'm writing my first Tony/Steve. What has this comm done to me?
... I don't remember! I just know that at some point I idly clicked on a cut promising "My Blonde Heroes" and saw someone who made me go "Hmm!" I'm terrible with names, though.
i feel like a total nerd, but i am stoked for these superhero movies...the only comic book movies i didn't like were Dare Devil and Elektra...but, that's beside the point...i'm most excited about the Thor movie which i haven't heard anything about...*fail*
never seen it, but the only thing i do know about Much Ado About Nothing is that it stars a young Keanu Reeves...i assume huggles mean it's a good movie??? ^______^
i don't think marvel owned the creative rights to the movie, just like they had no creative control over the X-Men movies or Spiderman movies...i believe creative control went to 20th Century Fox who bought the rights...and generally, think they fucked it up big time...both movies...*fail on their part*
i believe the first movie that they had full creative control over was Iron Man...*win for them!*
am i the only one who thinks it's funny that Johnston directed Jumunji while Favreau directed Zathura?? I lol'd. Also Honey I Shrunk the Kids! AWESOME!
My favs of his are definitely Hidalgo, October Sky, and The Rocketeer :D
OMG i almost DIED when i saw a preview for Four Christmases! I think i might be a helpless Fan!girl for Favs! Like i was squeeing and bouncing in my seat every time he came on screen. My friends were kind of like "the hell?" until one knowing soul went "Iron Man director" then all my friends were like "oooohhhh ok then." I kind of have a reputation about the whole Marvel thing :P
i love christmas movies to begin with and i love Vince Vaughn, so i was already fangirling to begin with when i first saw the preview...but when i saw Favs i almost had a conniption...
lmao...your friends sound like my friends...i think we should get together and form a club...nerds who hang out with cool people who know they are nerds...^______^
The real problem with choosing an actor playing Cap, though, would be his height. I mean, whomever they choose can muscle up with some months of gym and weights (it's comic cook mucles, anyway), but the height you can't escape. Cap has to be big!
The man is 6 foot and 2 inches tall. When he played Riley Finn, he was taller than Angel (someone should write a Buffy fic where Angel has issues about that, lol), who is very tall.
I considered John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harness from Torchwood), but Barrowman isn't apple pie enough, and Barrowman has Torchwood. Whereas Marc Blucas sadly only got two seasons of Buffy because fans didn't appreciate his parody humour (demons attack a church, scoobie gang arrives, and Riley is already there in his sunday best) until AFTER he was gone and we ended up with a season of undiluted too much angst.
The reason why these new superhero movies work is the fact that they have solid acting (Bale, McQuire, Downey Jr. etc) with a solid story. A lot of superhero movies start with characters. If the characters aren't well done, the movie won't work.
