Whee! Another step closer!

George Eads, dammit! C'mon, I can't be the only one who sees (http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/1699/captainamericav5013cbrpox6.jpg) a resemblence (http://lh4.ggpht.com/_h_hpB-xntaE/RfuKvnb-JuI/AAAAAAAAABE/dOCewdsUeRY/C:%5CDocuments+and+Settings%5Csameer%5CMy+Documents%5CMy+Pictures%5Ccsi%5CGeorge+Eads3.jpg).

Your second link isn't working

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
My vote is on Marc Blucas, who played Riley Finn (http://buffy.wikia.com/wiki/Riley_Finn), Buffy's boyfriend and a member of the Initiative branch of the U.S. military. His character is already kinda like Captain America...although kinda like Sharon Carter as well.

Dammit. Um, let's try this again. (http://lh4.ggpht.com/_h_hpB-xntaE/RfuKvnb-JuI/AAAAAAAAABE/dOCewdsUeRY/C:%5CDocuments+and+Settings%5Csameer%5CMy+Documents%5CMy+Pictures%5Ccsi%5CGeorge+Eads3.jpg) If it still doesn't work, I'll find a different picture.

Link didn't work but I image searched the guy and I loved his smile @_@ Approv'd.

[identity profile] cosmicbiscuit.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Bah. The picture in question was him with the same stoic scowl as in that last comic panel. But his boy scout grin is appropriate too.

Bleah. Please, no. Nice guy, but has the acting ability of a brick.

Nuh-uh. Mark Valley (http://www.boston-legal.org/big/big-brad-brick-cu-8-14-2006.jpg). Srsly (http://www.aolcdn.com/pmms/productpagecelebrity/03/07/2326657) you (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/43/MarkValley-PaleyFestival-5-15-2005.jpg) guys (http://www.boston-legal.org/10-hiredguns/hired-smirk-sm.jpg).

(He was actually in the military. You can't argue with that.)

OH YES HE'S PERFECT! Why didn't I think of him? In my head, he's now Steve!

Hello!

[identity profile] jazzypom.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
A blonde haired blue eyed actor that's still working! I really thought that died out in the 80s, like disco.

ext_18328: (Default)

Your choice is spot on

[identity profile] jazzypom.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
He has that square jawed, all American features that would make Red Skull cream in his panties, you know?

Yes, plz. As long as it isn't Leonardo Di Caprio I'm happy. The movie is served best by having a good actor who isn't a household name, tied to a good, solid retelling of the canon.

Re: Your choice is spot on

[identity profile] mechanicaljewel.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Inorite? He's got that boyish face that can still go hard-ass when the situation calls for it, and he's also a great actor. I fell so hard for him (especially as Cap) the first time I saw him on Boston Legal.
ext_18328: (Default)

Ah. Me thinks me needs to watch that.

[identity profile] jazzypom.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm youtubeing him now... that's it. The thing is, I rarely see light haired and light eyed actors on the TV - not like it used to be back in the day. Nowadays, you have dark haired and light eyed actors, but light haired and light eyed actors (to the point of fair eyebrows and lashes)? Goddamn.

I hope the casting director is listening to you...

Oh, guess what, I'm writing my first Tony/Steve. What has this comm done to me?

I hate you all.

Re: Ah. Me thinks me needs to watch that.

[identity profile] mechanicaljewel.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I live in dread that they'll try to dye-job and colored-contact someone, because that so rarely works. They really do just need to listen to me.

[identity profile] joysweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
... Okay, that's probably the second man I've seen a pic of who looks like he could play the part. There really aren't a lot of them.

Re: Your second link isn't working

[identity profile] mechanicaljewel.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, I'm curious who the first one is?

Re: Your second link isn't working

[identity profile] joysweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
... I don't remember! I just know that at some point I idly clicked on a cut promising "My Blonde Heroes" and saw someone who made me go "Hmm!" I'm terrible with names, though.

i feel like a total nerd, but i am stoked for these superhero movies...the only comic book movies i didn't like were Dare Devil and Elektra...but, that's beside the point...i'm most excited about the Thor movie which i haven't heard anything about...*fail*

[identity profile] mask-of-glamour.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 08:28 am (UTC)(link)

It's Shakespeare so it's obviously a little nutty :P

Daredevil adn Electra were bad

[identity profile] jazzypom.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Just... no. I don't know what Marvel was thinking, and Daredevil used to be my favourite Marvel character when I was a kid.

Re: Daredevil adn Electra were bad

[identity profile] mask-of-glamour.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
i don't think marvel owned the creative rights to the movie, just like they had no creative control over the X-Men movies or Spiderman movies...i believe creative control went to 20th Century Fox who bought the rights...and generally, think they fucked it up big time...both movies...*fail on their part*

i believe the first movie that they had full creative control over was Iron Man...*win for them!*

[identity profile] pandanoai.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
so happy that progress has been made!

am i the only one who thinks it's funny that Johnston directed Jumunji while Favreau directed Zathura?? I lol'd. Also Honey I Shrunk the Kids! AWESOME!

My favs of his are definitely Hidalgo, October Sky, and The Rocketeer :D

[identity profile] mask-of-glamour.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 08:32 am (UTC)(link)
i had no idea all these movies were directed by this guy...i love these movies, so now i'm very excited for the Cap movie!!

that is quite an interesting thing about Favs and Johnston...

well, i'm excited to see Favs in Four Christmases...that movie looks like it's gonna be funny as shit...^_____^

Emily

[identity profile] pandanoai.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
OMG i almost DIED when i saw a preview for Four Christmases! I think i might be a helpless Fan!girl for Favs! Like i was squeeing and bouncing in my seat every time he came on screen. My friends were kind of like "the hell?" until one knowing soul went "Iron Man director" then all my friends were like "oooohhhh ok then." I kind of have a reputation about the whole Marvel thing :P

[identity profile] mask-of-glamour.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
i love christmas movies to begin with and i love Vince Vaughn, so i was already fangirling to begin with when i first saw the preview...but when i saw Favs i almost had a conniption...

lmao...your friends sound like my friends...i think we should get together and form a club...nerds who hang out with cool people who know they are nerds...^______^

[identity profile] fabfunk.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Hm... was kinda hoping for a... um... less boring director?

[identity profile] chaosakita.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never seen any of his movies, so I don't know if this is good or bad news.

[identity profile] dorcas-gustine.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
The real problem with choosing an actor playing Cap, though, would be his height. I mean, whomever they choose can muscle up with some months of gym and weights (it's comic cook mucles, anyway), but the height you can't escape. Cap has to be big!

GET YOU MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER!

Marc Blucas is waaaaaaaaay tall

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
The man is 6 foot and 2 inches tall. When he played Riley Finn, he was taller than Angel (someone should write a Buffy fic where Angel has issues about that, lol), who is very tall.

I considered John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harness from Torchwood), but Barrowman isn't apple pie enough, and Barrowman has Torchwood. Whereas Marc Blucas sadly only got two seasons of Buffy because fans didn't appreciate his parody humour (demons attack a church, scoobie gang arrives, and Riley is already there in his sunday best) until AFTER he was gone and we ended up with a season of undiluted too much angst.

Re: Marc Blucas is waaaaaaaaay tall

[identity profile] adafrog.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, John Barrowman is so apple pie when he wants to be. And he's got the features I always imagine.
Although Marc Blucas is very handsome...
ext_18328: (Default)

Barrowman would look werid with blonde hair

[identity profile] jazzypom.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I remember seeing him in The Producers and G_d bless him, but Barrowman tends to be a ham, no matter the gravitas of the role.

Re: Barrowman would look werid with blonde hair

[identity profile] mechanicaljewel.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh Jazzy, you're so polite. Barrowman is a terrible actor. And anyway, he said at Comic-Con that he doesn't have the time for it, anyway.
ext_18328: (Default)

^_^ Quite

[identity profile] jazzypom.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
The reason why these new superhero movies work is the fact that they have solid acting (Bale, McQuire, Downey Jr. etc) with a solid story. A lot of superhero movies start with characters. If the characters aren't well done, the movie won't work.

[identity profile] asherescher.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
I know it's late and then some, but.. for Steve Rogers, I vote for anyone who has cuddly chemistry with RDJ.
