   For all you who keep up on Secret Invasion and are interested in what seems to be one of the most utterly depressing periods of Tony's life:
   On November 11th a 'leaked ending' (apparently what happens in SI #8) was posted on wikipedia and removed a short time later. Though it would be interesting and it would lend to my theory about Tony never having left the Skrull ship, it would ALSO be away from marvel to absolve Tony of all the shit they piled on him from the Civil war on.

They did, but the Skrulls also hacked Reed's brain to develop their tech with his mind. And stuff. So what they're saying in the article is that Reed's thing didn't work because it was a product of devious Skrullery and brain-hacking.

Tony being a Skrull is not penance for his bullshittery. It is a cop-out all the way. Real redemption for Tones would come in the form of him pulling his head out of his ass and realizing what a dick he's been.

I can see this as being both true and false. They seem to be setting up Tony to take a lot of the fall for the Invasion, as well as setting up Osborn to be the new top dog. I wouldn't put it past them to have Osborn claim that Tony is a Skrull. I believe in the issue of Thunderbolts that ties in directly with SI #7, Norman sees Iron Man rocketing off from the fight and says "Perfect."

So, that's my theory. Tony isn't actually a Skrull, but with the Skrull-based paranoia and Osborn being the new favorite child, Normy convinces everyone he is.

That's an interesting point as well. It was made pretty damn clear that Osborn is going to be taking over SHIELD (with War Machine taking over IMDOS and the President asking for Osborn in SI #7 seeing IM flee the scene). There is just so much total mindfucking going on in the whole series so far - they've got a lot of loose ends to tie up in my opinion.

Let's hope they don't fuck this one up.

I could be totally wrong, and Google currently isn't loading for me so I can't find the source material to back this up, but I could have sworn that Word of God said that Namor was going to show up in SI 8, particularly, in the last few pages, which would invalidate that summary (at least parts of it). The only part of that that seems plausible is the Norman Osborn part, but they've been setting him up to be Tony 2.0 (or are we on 3.0 at this point?) for a while now. It's been all but confirmed that he's the Iron Patriot and that the Dark Avengers are just the Thunderbolts refashioned into an Avengers team.

What I hate is that SI could have been over today if it hadn't been pushed back two weeks. I just want this to be over so that I can figure out who's part of the new Mighty Avengers line-up. (We only know Jocasta for sure so far.)

I bitched at Leinil Yu on Facebook if it helps (lol) - And yes - Bendis did say that Namor (and Dr. Strange, I believe) will be showing up in SI #8 - AND, if my memory serves me right, I think he has pretty much confirmed that IM is not a Skrull...

But Bendis really does like to fuck around with his readers in the worst way. -_- I don't trust the bastard.
