Invincible Iron Man #22 and #23 recap and discussion post

Hey everyone! Thank you for all the kind words toward my recaps. Back by popular demand and a more relaxed schedule, I present the most recent two issues of Iron Man. In March, I will have more free time so the last issue of the arc and the following issues will get to you more timely.

Remember the rules, keep the discussions here because I can't reply to you on blog spot and try to keep the Fraction hate to a minimum. But you can rip apart Larroca all you want to :D

Without further delay...

So basically nothing really happened.

Well, Pepper decided to confide in Maria Hill about her sex life, because she suddenly realised there were no men in this scene, so it was sex or shoes as a topic for conversation, and Maria and she are obviously on giggling-about-boys terms.

And Dr Strange's best guess is getting Tony to repeat a catchphrase in the hope... who even knows? He's not Wiccan, repeating himself shouldn't help, and even Wiccan needs to believe what he's saying.

*sigh*

I understand Fraction is subject to schedules beyond his control, and has had to spin out his stories... but I do find it hard to believe that a story with Tony Stark trapped in his own subconscious and Dr Strange fetching him out can be so dull. There's vast, vast opportunity for insight and complexity there, but it's just... not there. It's all glaringly heavy-handed stuff like HEY TONY YOU HAVE TROUBLE ASKING FOR HELP DID YOU KNOW THAT.
