Cap_Ironman Weekly News, Week Ending 18th April 2010

Welcome to this week's newsletter! Grab a drink and pull up a chair; there's a ton of movie news. First of all, there's a rumor that both Cap and Thor will appear in an after-credits scene in Iron Man II. There's also a less-substantiated rumor that Olivia Munn reshot her Iron Man scenes because they were turned into Wasp-cameo scenes. This ties in to Edgar Wright - director of Hot Fuzz and future director of Ant Man - meeting up with Joss Whedon, who has been confirmed as director of the Avengers. No one has been officially cast yet for Hank or Jan, but Marvel seems determined knit all their movies together with references and cameos, so it seems possible that Olivia's cameo could be as Jan. All of that - plus the tidbit that Whedon will likely revise the Cap script - can be found in this article. Finally, it's been confirmed that Hayley Atwell will play Peggy in Cap's movie.

In comic book news, it was announced that Steve will be starring in a four-issue series that explores his new role in the Marvel U called Steve Rogers: Super Soldier. He will also have a role in the Secret Avengers.

I thought it had been confirmed that Munn's character would be another Russian tied to Vanko. Was that just a rumor?

I think that's been confirmed; the -unsubstantiated- rumor is that she reshot her scenes because her character was changed to a possibly-Jan character. I thought it was an interesting rumor, even if it's very flimsy.

Isn't Munn playing an FBI agent or is that the other girl who was Not!Bethany!Cabe?

Speaking of -- I signed up for Beth in the squee-a-thon. I am moving cross country next week; so can I post about her on April 30th-May 1st? I should be back up and running by then.

Well, the rumor - which is pretty flimsy - is that her character was changed, hence the reshoot.
