This scene is the same or very similar to how the novel starts; I'm glad it had been filmed!

Since the kiss helmet scene did show up in the movie trailer I thought maybe it was a director's cut. :D Didn't expect the toilet hug though.

Yeah, that was part of the novelization ( or possibly first draft of script). It's a great read, if you're looking for additional awesome stuff.
