Take two!

Title: An Ever Fixed Mark
Creator: Elspeth and Seanchai
Universe: Earth-616 (main continuity)
Warnings: Mention of past rape (not graphic).
Rec: During his time on the West Coast Avengers, Tony gets a magical sex change and they deal with the fallout. One thing I love about this fic is that it deals very, very well with the affects of a sudden change like that. They never let up on how difficult it is, but they also keep Tony absolutely in-character through a difficult trope. Elspeth and Seanchai are masters of the H/C gutpunch.

Title: Heroes and Devils

Universe: Earth-616 (main continuity)
Rec: This is a crossover with a browser game called Fallen London, but you shouldn't need to play the game to understand it. It's been three years since New York was sunk into a dark netherworld run by devils and the mysterious Masters of the Bazaar. The Avengers, of course, are working to get New York back where it belongs on the surface, and something may have dropped into their laps that will help them do just that. Of course, that something just might kill Tony in the process. As someone who plays the game, the fic does a wonderful job of incorporating the bizarre and amazing world of the Neath, and Steve/Tony are just beautiful together in how they react differently to the situation.

Rec: Shorter than most of my usual reads, but lovely. Steve and Tony help ground each other on waking. How they bounce off each other is wonderful, and the feeling of ritual is just perfect.

Title: Rock and No Water and the Sandy Road
Creator: Jazzypom
Universe: Earth-1610 (Ultimates)
Rec: One thing I love about Ultimate Steve and Tony is how they bounce off each other and fit together at the same time. This is a brilliant example of that. Ults Steve feels deeply, though he's not good at showing it. Tony feels deeply too, but what he shows the world isn't always what's actually going on. Jazzypom has an amazing knack for hitting them both just right.
