The Oddest Things Remind Me Of The Boys...
So I watched 'Due Date' last night. I enjoyed it, it wasn't the laugh-a-minute thrill ride that was 'Tropic Thunder', but RDJ didn't let me down. It did however leave me with the burning desire to see a fic wherein Steve and Tony are on a cross country road trip-for whatever reason-and drive each other absolutely bonkers but love each other anyway.
Anyone want to adopt this bunny?

By the way fancy_galloway, your icon is great. My first thought when I saw it was: "Don't let Tony see it, it won't help his ego."

Thanks! I made it! Lol, I doubt theres much that can be done about that ego at this point. But I am trying to create a group of Ironettes down here in Miami and over the cyberwebs. We had some confusion at a few cons last year and now I'm trying to get an organized group together of cool chicks (and a few Tony's) who want to get in shape, dance and nerd out.

I could probably even draft some people at school to make nice little arc reactors/hand repulsor units...

Let me know If you actually want to do this cuz im looking for motivated members!

(Related but ranty: What's with all the critical Due Date hate? A 39% at Rotten Tomatoes is unbelievable to me. Greatest movie ever? No. But 39%? Paul Blart: Mall Cop has a 50%! It's like some strange The Hangover backlash. The same people who praised that are panning Due Date for things like weak character development, etc... yet The Hangover had none of that. I liked The Hangover, but seriously? When did a raunch-comedy have the same expectations of Schindler's List?)

Whateves. I'm standing next to RDJ (and apparently you, lol) on this one.

RDJ just did it so we can continue being morally upstanding citizens.

Thank you, thank you very much.
BTW and this may have zero relevance to you but with all the fakenews stuff I had to share. I waited on Rick Sanchez at work yesterday! All I could picture was him being tazed over and over.

... and then get fired. But what a zing!

(1) Captain America wakes up. Fury and Tony pop the champagne. Steve's less thrilled, you know, with the whole "seventy years gone" and "foreign culture" thing.
(2) Tony desperately wants to be BFFs with Captain America. He's CAPTAIN AMERICA. And Tony's still that schmuck who's trying to be a rock star super hero good guy. Tony thinks that if he can be friends with Cap, and get Cap to like him, then maybe, just maybe, he can find his redemption.
(3) Cap thinks Tony is a fast-talking stalker.
(4) Fury tells Cap and Tony that there's this old dude in New Mexico named Don Blake who they need to bring back to SHIELD for question. Cap remembers Blake! He was the medic in the Howling Commandos! So Cap volunteers to go get him. And Tony volunteers too. But since Tony wants to be besties with Cap, instead of just hoping in the Quinjet, Tony gets out his classic muscle car and Steve and Tony hit to road to go get back Thor, I mean, Don Blake.
(5) Tony and Steve learn to love each other. Steve sees the new modern America. They battle some crazy Neo-Nazis along the way (cause, it's Captain America. We need Nazis.)
(6) And by the time they've reached New Mexico, they are best friends FOREVER, which allows them to meet up with Donald Blake. Who slams his walking stick into the ground just in time, cause some bad guys totally show up and Thor and Cap and Tony battle them and decide they are awesome sauce together and should be the Avengers.
The End.
:)
I also want to see the road trip Post-Civil War where Tony and Steve go on the road to fight demons, and this leads them to the ultimate demon, the Diablo, and once they kill him, all of the deals he made cease to exist, so they not only save their friendship, they save Peter and MJ's marriage.

Also? When you said "neo-Nazis" I was totally thinking of "The Blues Brothers". ...And now I can't stop thinking of Steve and Tony walking into a diner somewhere and ordering four fried chickens and a Coke. And some dry white toast. (Well, mostly Tony, because Steve hasn't seen the movie yet and thinks he might be a little crazy, and also why won't he take off those sunglasses?)
