I'm not exactly a darkfic reader, but let's see what I can do. (cracks knuckles)

Title: What If: Project Wide Awake
Creator: Simmysim
Universe: Earth-616 (main continuity)
Warnings: Implied torture
Rec: This has to be recced at least once during rec week. This is a take on what could have happened if Steve's side had won during Civil War and the government went back to their original plan. Everything falls apart and members of the superhero community go missing. It's one of those fics that you read once and never forget.

Title: I'll Remember Best of All, All the Things We Didn't Say

Rec: My note for this fic just says ":)". After Steve comes back, everything is most definitely not alright. This fic broke my heart. The reveal of what's actually happened to Tony is a hard punch to the gut, and there aren't any happy endings.

Title: Deeper Than Bone

Rec: So, Civil War was THE place for angst. This is immediately following the death of Captain America, and is Thor's point of view as he goes to confront Tony. Short, but a lovely look at Tony from an outsider's perspective.

Warnings: Psychological and physical torture
Rec: Long fic is long, and I love long fic. ♥ This fic has the prominence of being of the stories I can't reread because it tears me to shreds, even though the ending isn't unhappy. The Earth is invaded, and Tony allows himself to be captured with other scientists and Clint as a way to sabotage the aliens from the inside. Most of the fic happens while Steve and Tony are separated, but the affect of being held captive on Tony and Clint are positively painful to read about. The alien culture is very well realized, and the plot is superbly put together.
