tsukinofaerii: Oh-em-gee oh-nose (OMG ONOZ)

A time of terror

What, Halloween? No! It's something even more frightening.

November.

AAAAAAAAH.

For everyone not in the know, November is National Novel Writing Month; that NaNoWriMo thing you've probably seen around the web. The way it goes is that anyone so inclined makes a deal with Mephisto attempts to write 50,000 words in 30 days (about half of a novel, or a pretty good sized fanfic). It rounds out to about 1,667 words a day, which is sometimes more manageable than it looks, and sometimes farther away than the moon. But that's okay, since the point is mostly to put your head down and charge at that writer's block until one of you cracks open.

As you can probably tell by the community this has been posted to (hint: it's [community profile] cap_ironman), I'm doing a Steve/Tony NaNo! I did one last year and had a ridiculous amount of fun. With a goal and a deadline in mind, I've had a lot of lock slamming out words. For people who aren't interested in longer works, there's also [livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo, which is a minimum word count of 100 words a day, and doing it on a single fic isn't required. That's much more manageable for people with busy schedules or short fics.

TL;DR I'm basically asking if anyone else on this community is going to join me in some delicious Steve/Tony headdesking noveling through November this year. Again, it's a ton of fun, and it really stretches the writing muscles, regardless of whether you do the Mini or the Novel form. So? Anyone up for it?

Disclaimer: Yes, this is an attempt to get people to write more Steve/Tony fic. I have no shame.

I might use nano to finish up my comicsbigbang fic

It's mouldering at some words, but threatens to be ten times that amount, but I don't know yet.

I do want to finish it this year, though. :/

The mini nano is tempting. I have something like 5 WIP (That I still have any hope of finishing one day) That could just do it.

I'm sorry to say that the Steve/Tony muse is not really bitting though.

Maybe I should prowll the Avengers-kink meme for prompts (exept I can't write explicite sex)

oh well. five day until the closing of the mini nano sign up. decision, decision.

Me! Me!

*ahem*

I've participated in NaNo for the last three years and even "won" a few times. I had no idea what I was going to write about this year until about two hours ago, when I was discussing the (omgpositivethankyousomuchyouguys! :) reaction to my reverse bang story with my roommate.

I'm going to use NaNo to get the Noir!sequel done. (They won't leave me alone!! Ahhh!)

My username on NaNo is, shockingly enough, penumbren. XD Feel free to friend me over there.

Added. :) It'll be lovely to be around other people who understand both the NaNo and the fangirl craziness. :D

I've done original fic the last three years, so this will be interesting. (I had to research fluorescent lights, metal detectors, and electric staplers all within one hour while writing "Indelible"... can't wait to see what I end up having to look up writing a story set entirely in the 1940s. LOL)

I'm flailing between doing Steve/Tony and original fic. I think I would be inclined to do a series of shorter (1k-5k) fics if I do the former, though- I don't think I currently have an Epic Saga of Steve And Tony that I can carry for 50k.

I am still deciding between doing Steve/Tony and Heroes for Hire fic. I will shoot for mini_nanowrimo though because I don't think I can carry an epic.

I can't wait to see what you'll have written :D

My NaNo is of something else entirely, but the goal set is inspiring me to write fast.
