My dad, who is a pilot, assures me that the manuverability of the armor versus a plane would make it very much Tony's fault if there was a collision; but it's a good covering-my-ass-legally failsafe regardless. The IMAA version has Tony noting that light pollution from NYC has made it hard for him not to be seen even at night, but that's within city limits.

I like the mental image of Tony explaining this to Steve and Steve not buying any of it. "What if you crashed and we needed to find you at night?"
