Movie Jarvis Solution

I don't know why I like reading movieverse Steve/Tony so much, considering that Steve's isn't out yet so what are we writing from??? (mix of Ultimate and 616?)

The problem was, Missing Jarvis. The house was cool, but Jarvis was an awesome awesome character, and dude, is Spiderman's Aunt going to be dating a house?

I thought of a solution. The movie is an AU of 616. Tony Stark was born Tony Stark, albeit in a slightly different universe. He grew up, as [livejournal.com profile] quigonejinn would put it, in a state of benign neglect and household help". There was his parents who were mostly at social functions I guess, till they died when he was in his 20s, probably while he was Aboard. There was Rhodey at college, and then there was Obadiah since he was a kid, someone who provided stability by being there, but he might have suspected that something was off, he did hid the armour from Obadiah after all.

When Tony was little, he spent a lot of time running around on military bases while his father was in meetings. One memorial day, he runs into a British veteran who was staying on the base as a sort of Boothby to the young cadets. Edwin Jarvis left such an impression on young Tony Stark, that when time came for him to give his AI a name, his AI which would be the voice he comes home to, he chose Jarvis.

...and wouldn't it be sweet if Jarvis was working for SHIELD or something (albeit in a non-combat role) and remember what Tony was like as a kid? Awwwwwwwwww.

Kinda off-topic from the Jarvis speculation, but rewatched the first movie last night and noticed some of the timeline stuff. Parents died in 1991, when Tony was late teens-20ish. Meaning Tony was born in the early 70s. Howard was actively developing stuff during WWII (passing comments re: working on atomic bombs, plus Cap's shield) -- even if he was a child genius as well, and say he was 20 at that time, that means he was around fifty when Tony was born, older than that in those clips in IM2, and around 70 when he died. Strikes me as a little strange. Would that affect any of the Jarvis theories out there? (Jarvis would be younger than Howard, unless he's like, 90 years old current time.)
