Free comic book day!
Ok, so due to time differences, my free comic day comes earlier than most!
Ner ner... nah, just kidding. Enjoy your Saturday!
So there are two places I can get comics in the Sydney CBD. One I got two comics from (yay!) and the other only one, but it had a setup with local comic book and manga artists, so that was pretty cool too.
Anyways, what I wanted to show was this:

This I got from David Yardin, who draws mainly X-Factor covers, but was nice enough to draw Tony for me, even if he thought having no helmet was making things overly complicated :P
Apologies for picture quality, I don't have a scanner, so this was taken on my digital camera.
Oh and yeah, as the image shows, my name's Hanna. Er, hi.
If anyone wants to know, I got Captain America Thor: The Mighty Fighting Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and Young Justice/ Batman the Brave and the Bold Super Sampler.

Mind. Blown. So I got the Captain America/Thor issue and the YJ/Batman:BatB sampler. :D
(Then I spent the rest of the day alternating day-to-day activities with queing for a signing with Bryan Lee O'Malley and finishing the first season of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes at a friend's place. So uh, I still haven't actually read any of the comics I got.)
And guh, gorgeous art is gorgeous. Every time I see art of Tony as he was portrayed in the early days of the series, it gets more and more obvious to me that he was modelled after Clark Gable. Which is not a bad thing, but considering this fandom's relationship to Gone With The Wind, all kinds of hilarious.

I didn't know comic book day was actually a thing here. (I grew up in a small town, it was over an hour to drive to the nearest city :()
But, yeah, my friends are very nice.
I fully approve watching Earth's Mightiest Heroes :P
That is most hilarious.

Also, after reading your post, I had the Camelot song from Holy Grail stuck in my head. For most of the day. My mind is a strange place.
I could not resist.
It's only a model.Re: I could not resist.
(brb, dying of lols)
Re: I could not resist.
(This also adds a completely new dimension to the "impersonate Clark Gable" line... Tony Stark, I'm looking at you.)
Re: I could not resist.
"Ham and jam and spam. A lot of it. Why do you ask, Steve?"
"...oh, no reason."
Re: I could not resist.
Re: I could not resist.
"I was in the nick of time, Tony, you were in great peril!"
"I don't think I was."
"Look, let me go back in there and face the peril."
"No, it's too perilous."
"Look, I'm an Avenger, I'm supposed to face as much peril as I can!"
"No, we've got to find the Cosmic Cube. Come on!"
"Well, let me have just a little bit of peril?"
"No, it's too perilous."
"Spoilsport."

Re: I could not resist.
Also, a Monty Python/Avengers mashup... INTERNET, MAKE IT HAPPEN.
*Looks around expectantly*

And in a perfect world, we would get a Langridge/Samnee comic with Cap, Thor and Iron Man teaming up with Arthur against Doom, Loki, Morgana Le Fey and their army of undead warriors and dragons (or undead dragons?).
Alas, the world is not perfect and I have to make do with these two storylines being separate.

I love FCBD. My LCS is the best LCS ever (don't even argue) and they actually ordered extras of a few of the ones they knew I'd be interested in so I didn't have to worry about them running out. I haven't even been in the state, and they were still thinking about me. BEST EVER. I ended up picking up Darkwing Duck/Rescue Rangers, Captain America/Thor, Amazing Spider-Man, YJ/BATB, Atomic Robo, Elric, and uh. The Mis-Adventures of Adam West. I JUST HAD TO, OKAY?
