Cap_Ironman Weekly News, Week Ending 7 August 2011

Hello and welcome to the weekly [livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman/[community profile] cap_ironman newsletter.

Your modly mod had a decent poke around various comics sites and wasn't able to turn up much in the way of news in relation to Steve, Tony or Steve/Tony. -shrugs- mostly people seem to be talking about the DCnU. Here's this week's previews, anyway.

If you saw [livejournal.com profile] saphirerose1986's art and maybe want some more of that, please think about signing up for [livejournal.com profile] tresa_cho's pan-fandon Merfolk Ficathon. Sign ups are open through 31 August.

Reminder of the week:
This comm has a Mandatory Warning Policy. Please read it before posting fan works. Failure to abide by the warning policy can lead to deletion of offending fan works. Repeated failure can lead to a ban from the comm.

[livejournal.com profile] trebuchet_quirk vidded Must Have Done Something Right
[livejournal.com profile] saphirerose1986 drew Mermen AU

[livejournal.com profile] derryderrydown wrote Five Times Steve Rogers Danced (Film Spoilers)
[livejournal.com profile] often_adamanta wrote Necessary Experience (Film Spoilers)
[livejournal.com profile] ladygrendel wrote Lion-Hearted Girl (Part 3)

[livejournal.com profile] bowsie22 hosted an informal poll/discussion about which version(s) of Steve and Tony you picture when reading fic.
[livejournal.com profile] kahn put together a wonderful round up of Avengers film news.
Couple people looking for (and finding \o/) fic this week, which we always appreciate on this comm, but there is also [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders for your fic finding needs.

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our warnings policy, so please read. If you're interested in the ship, you may want to read the Ship Manifesto, and consult the list of Slashy Moments (Now at one hundred and fifty moments). If you're planning to write for the comm, there are some tips on writing the pairing here, and the Avengers in general here; if you're having trouble finding a beta, or would like to offer your services as a beta, our beta list is here. If you're looking for the comm archive, it's Tales of Suspense, and it's automated - you can create an account and upload your fic. If you're looking for a particular story, why not try [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders? If you have any questions, you can comment here or PM a mod, that's me, [livejournal.com profile] garrideb and [livejournal.com profile] valtyr.

And feel free to post on-topic or off-topic stuff in the comments to this post! Just keep it reasonably safe for work, please.

Yeah, as I said to [livejournal.com profile] valtyr above, I thought it was worth a shot but I'm doubtful too. The worst that will happen is that my rarely-used YouTube account is deleted.

I've had a lot of issues in the past with downloaded vids not playing for me, which has soured me on that, but it's probably not a problem for those more techsavvy than me. It's a good idea.
