Bunny Hutch Post

Haven't done one of these for a while.

Here is the place to comment with fic ideas that you cannot, will not or don't have time to write, in the hope that someone else will pick it up.

Do you have a plot bunny gnawing on your ankle? Post it here, and someone may adopt it.

I am intrigued with your 1602!AU...though I have to wonder if things would get slightly awkward when the actual 1602!Steve arrives at said colonies. I'm sure Lord Iron would be like..."you didn't tell me you were twins!" XD

Oh, that's certainly a thought! Hmm, thinking about it, since the heroes were supposed to be... idk born? formed~? in 1602 because of modern!Steve/Rojhaz coming there, (lol, almost like ~there can be only all or NONE! Ba-dum TISH! ;P) I'm not even sure a Steve that was native to the time, would even exist. Like you said, two Steve's would be quite confusing lol. :X (Or was the instability in the original 1602 because there were now two Steve's in the world? Huh, been a while since I read it, must research as soon as RL stops kicking me in the nuts)

Haha, have you read 1602: New World, the one in which Tony appears? It's actually pretty great, it kind of retconssolves a lot of the stupid from the first series, so even though it's just building up on the concept, sometimes I like it more than Gaiman's run. :P (Plus of course, it has Tony & Rhodey being awesome bros, which is awesome. Plus Tony is a Spaniard, lol, which makes for interesting fashions... Black goatee with blonde hair, as was apparently the fashion of the time. x||

And wow. this turned into a completely weird and off topic squee thing, oops? OTL (I really love historical AUs, lol) ANYWAY! To get back to your idea, it's certainly a very interesting tangent that wouldn't have occurred to me at all! :Da

Actually, if I am remembering correctly, there is a native Steve to 1602. He was training to be a soldier of some sort...I think. They never went into much detail with it as far as I know. He only appeared for a couple of panels on one page and that was that. I read some of the 1602 comics, but I never read the continuation 1602: A New World. All I remember is seeing Tony appear as Lord Iron but then they used him like a battery for a printing press.
I really need to go back and find issues because I don't think I even remember the entire story, just bits a pieces of it. Like how Peter was kind of Fury's assistant...sort of. Then Daredevil became blind due to some funky cave goo. Rohjaz is actually from another universe, but he was a body gaurd to Virginia...whoever she is supposed to be. And all superheroes/mutants are called witch breed because they can do some extraordinary things....hence witch. XD
Although...Tony with blond hair? The [censor]?! I mean even with him being a Spaniard, I don't recall anything about dual hair color [thinks] Yeahh...I'm going to fan-retcon that right now [colors his hair black] It's either that or his goetee goes blond. XDDDD and it's totally okay to squee with Marvel AUs. It's sort of shame there aren't any more fun AUs. I'd really love for them to expand Ironman Noir...or heck make a Steampunk AU, or whatever :)

Virginia Dare (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_Dare) isn't a Marvel creation. She was the first white, English child born in the Americas. (That we know of.)

She and her parents were part of the Roanoke colony that vanished some time between 1587 and 1590.

See you learn something new every day. I didn't even know/remembered her last name was Dare, let alone Marvel was trying to tie into actual history...lol. I think all I can recall was that I think she was important to the story and she had white hair? As I said I don't actually remember much about 1602 and I don't have them on hand. But hey...pretty good for something I read around 2-3 years ago in passing at my LCS [waggles eyebrows]. Wasn't there also a dinosaur or something?

I've only read snippets of 1602, so I'm not sure.

(I will, however, rec the play The Lost Colony to anyone who's in the Outer Banks of North Carolina during the summer months.)

Ooh wow. I don't remember at all. Must reread! And haha, yeah, Virginia Dare. I knew her thanks to my ill-spent youth consuming Encyclopaedias like they were chocolate. But, I don't historical accuracy re: events was the point there. ;) As for Tony, I'm not much of a historical expert at all, but I think that was supposed to be the latest contemporary Spanish fashion. (I kinda liked that. That they made him follow the "in-things", lol) But he could totally stop being fussed about it or about following the latest fashions back home in his new life in The New World!

A canon Steampunk AU would be totally the greatest. (or heh. A fan-one. What with more chances of OTP in there. ;P This is the bunny hutch post, innit? ;)
