I found the book to be very depressing (I like happy endings, so sue me), but I liked the way it expanded Oz. The musical is just so happy though, comparatively. Also, I totally ship Elphaba/Glinda

I found the book depressing too... maybe because I already was in love with the musical and they seem so different!

They were meant to be! I really wish she'd gotten on the damn broom. The ending would have been SO MUCH BETTER
