It would be awesome, if done right. So so awesome. (I'll admit I was never much of a Hulk fan in the comics, but I've always loved Jen.)

Cass is my favorite Batgirl, I love her so very, very much.

If it had been a couple of years ago, I would have totally wished for Lucy Lawless, because she even looks a bit like how "She-Hulk is drawn.

I love Barbara too, but I'm with you on liking it best when she was Oracle and Cass was Batgirl. Cass also has my favorite version of the Batgirl suit.

I know. When I stare at Ms. Marvel's costume, I have to ask: is the ability to NOT get a wedgie while fighting one of her superpowers? Because if it is, I want that superpower.

It always makes me think of that Calvin & Hobbes comic strip, in which Hobbes says something along the lines of, "is fitting those bodies into those costumes one of their superpowers?"

Completely butting in here to ask if you're reading the new Wonder Woman comic, and if so, if you have any thought on it..? I just recently went on a Wonder Woman reading spree, & I'd love to hear some opinions.

Ah, I'm not much of a DC person so the DCnU didn't affect me emotionally. I had read the previous run of Batwoman and have the issues of the current run sitting on my coffee table. Are you enjoying that series? The covers are so gorgeous I'm afraid the interiors won't live up ;-)

Wonder Woman... well, I really love the art. And the story for the most part is holding my interest. It's very heavily entwined with greek mythology, which I like. But the Amazons come off as complete douches, which makes me sad because I want the DC Amazons to be awesome and strong and compassionate warriors who are *not* bloodthirsty or rapists or killers of male infants.

Beyond that, I haven't really emotionally connected with any of the characters. The stuff they do is interesting, but I don't feel invested in whether they succeed. Much, at any rate. Diana befriends a normal mortal woman and I suppose I want that woman to get through the story okay. Everyone else, meh.

That makes perfect sense, and yeah, it sounds like we've got the same problem. Which is really too bad, as Kate Kane, Wonder Woman, (and, well, Oracle) are the three DC women in which I've had *any* investment. I guess I can look forward to the tasteful sex scene, at least! ;-)

When you say Wonder Woman's characterization was peaking before the DCnU, was that J. Michael Straczynski's run? I read the first trade of his run and enjoyed it a lot. I should see if the library has more of his run collected - I liked how bluntly heroic Diana was and how the surviving Amazons were the good guys.

You're right. I'd rather have this current Wonder Woman series than none at all. I do wish I could have this series's art with Michael Straczynski's characterization, though. I liked her costume-with-pants but her cleavage was rather overwhelming. I really do like the stylization of the current run's art, but yeah, Straczynski really wrote Diana as a compelling, heroic woman.

Carol and Wanda somehow became my femslash OTP. Although to be fair, I ship Carol and Jessica Drew also. And Carol/Salia the astronaut from the classic Ms. Marvel run. Basically, Carol/all the ladies. And I'm so excited for the Captain Marvel series!

It's very okay, and I've added you as a friend, too. I've enjoyed this thread also! I don't actually post very much to my LJ, though.
