Friendmeme!

People have been asking for a party post and a friend meme for ages - sorry it took so long! Party it up in the comments here, or fill out this handy form and copy/paste it. There will be movie spoilers in the comments! There will also be gifs, joy, and virtual mead in the comments! Basically, go wild and make friends!

I don't understand how you go about making friends on tumblr :( I like it! I think! I like the people on there, I like the tumblr sense of humour, it seems like lots of fun, but it all moves so fast! I like LJ and its permanence. With LJ, I can go back and read things I posted when I was twelve (though that's rarely a good idea). With tumblr, I can barely find what people posted three days ago.

But it's interesting how everyone seems to be kind of more connected in tumblr, but also less. It seems to be like there's a kind of unity to tumblr, almost like it's one fandom, where you have that sort of vague love for everyone there, even the people you don't know, because they are Your Kind, whereas LJ is all friendslocking and filtered posts and so on. But the friendslocking and the filtering means you become much closer to the people you meet, whereas I've seen things on tumblr about unfollowing people for posting personal posts.

Sorry, sorry, I could talk about this all day. Over-analysing the way fandom works on different platforms, best way to spend a Saturday.

haha, yeah, it moves superfast. D: i follow only 160 people and even then it's hard to catch up on things (most people live on the other side of the world for me so when i wake up it's like BAM EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED ALREADY HAPPENED and i'm just like, what did i miss)

i agree! most of the real close bonding you find in tumblr is because of offsite chats, etc.

:DDD I like overanalysing things on a saturday.

Ahahaha, 'only'! 160 sounds pretty overwhelming. (Actually, I just checked and I'm following 159, so.) You really need to check it every hour or so or you end up sitting at your computer for three hours that night! Which makes it good for on-the-go fandomming, on your phone on buses or between classes or whatever. And maybe that's just the future of the internet idk.

But oh boy, I know that feel bro. I'm in Australia, which worked out well for Avengers, but not so much for, oh, anything else ever.
