In the spirit of new comic book day, Wednesdays are dedicated to discussing anything on your reading list right now! Have you picked up any new releases today? Finally started a novel you've been putting off for way too long? Keeping preoccupied with some fanfiction? Don't hesitate to talk about whatever story's on your mind!

I had to think long and what the last books were that I didn't have to read for university...

The last I enjoyed were Anthony Doerr's 'All the Light We Cannot See' and Omar El Akkad's 'American War'. And I will always recommend Kirino Natsuo's 'Out' though that's almost twenty years old by now. (Back when 'Out' was first released in Japan, there was basically a wave of panic that the feminists were now going to murder all husbands everywhere lol)

I started 'All the Light We Cannot See' awhile back, but then put it down and never returned to it. I'll have to give it another shot, now that things/life have calmed back down! And thanks so much for the recs! I added them to my list!! Any book that starts a wave of panic from feminism sounds FANTASTIC :D

I found the beginning of All the Light We Cannot See a little hard to get through, but it clicked somewhere in the first third and I started to enjoy it. If you end up liking Out, I recommend taking a look at the author's other works. I'm not sure which of them are available in English (and sadly, the English translations can be a little weak in places), but basically all of them touch upon 'taboo' topics and end up with conservatives clutching their pearls in the background haha.
