2012 Tony/Steve get-together

(Anonymous) 2019-04-24 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
Our 2019 Steve and Tony were sadly not even close to endgame. But either one or both of them hint to their past selves to trust each other more and get to know each other better while time travelling and voila, an alternate timeline emerges where they get together (maybe married by 2019! Who knows!). Please soothe my broken heart.

(short and fluffy)

AU - Tony is unmoored in time

(Anonymous) 2019-04-24 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
AU where an unmarried, childless Tony doesn’t die but becomes unstuck in time. He has some adventures, maybe soothes his childhood self, whatever you want. But he also visits Steve a lot and manages to work out his anger and hurt (especially since past versions of Steve technically didn’t do anything). As hard as it is, maybe he even tells some Steve that Bucky’s alive and helps him through that revelation, bringing them very close. Eventually he is rewarded for his efforts and lands in a perfect, heavenly timeline with Steve (whatever that may be).

Permanent Injury, Hurt No Comfort, Possible Character Death

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Canon divergence: Human beings just aren't meant to wield infinity.

After Tony's encounter with the gauntlet, he's not only left severely physically disabled, but the echoes of that omniscience drive him slowly out of his mind, so he is a danger to himself and maybe even others. Steve (who is in love with him but has never said?) becomes his defacto care-taker (Pepper is too busy caring for Morgan and also maybe deeply disturbed and fearful around this new Tony?). Give me maximum possible pain please. Bonus points if it ends with Tony's death.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve doesn't stay in the past and comes back and is there for Morgan as she grows up - Pepper figures out later that he was in love with Tony but never says anything

Canon Divergence - Back to Pre-Infinity War

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
So, what if Tony instead wished that they were back to Pre-Infinity War, either right after Civil War or before Civil War? He feels that everything went to shit around that time and he needs to put that right. Above and beyond having Pepper and Morgan, he wanted to make it right with Steve.

Tony is alive

They're able to get Tony to one of those healing pods that Shuri has. What happens next?

AU - Steve's trip back in time resulted in another universe

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Another universe where Steve and Tony end up together and the Infinity War doesn't even happen because the Civil War didn't even come true.

Re: AU - Steve's trip back in time resulted in another universe

(Anonymous) 2019-04-25 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
From same anon

OR Steve's trip back altered the future. Instead of ending up with Peggy, he ends up with Tony, Civil War doesn't happen. But, it's the same timeline. So the Avengers who went back in time, feel that the past has changed before they "snap" back into the present. So they still have their memories of the old past, but interlaid with the changed past. Over time, they forget the old past. But sometimes, Steve worries that Tony lost Morgan and that he's not enough to compensate for the loss.

Bonus points if they somehow gain a daughter like Morgan.

Steves stays in 2012 with alternative!Tony

(Anonymous) 2019-04-26 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
So, just watched the movie hours ago and I think I found a plot hole; when Tony and Scott failed to retrive the tesseract and Loki escaped with it, that created an alternative past, a new universe in where also Thanos does not exist because he went and died in the future.
Then, when Steve goes back to return the stones and sees Tony alive, he just know he can not live in a world without Tony, so he decides to stay there and look after him in the shadows, but alternative!Tony founds about him after seeing himself for a brief moment after the heart attack and the videos of the two Steves fighting.
Eventually they fall in love and live happily ever after

Steve gets sidetracked in the multiverse when returning the stones

(Anonymous) 2019-04-26 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
When Steve leaves to return the infinity stones, he ends up getting sucked into different parts of the multiverse, I was thinking 616 mainly, but Ults, AA, and MCU aus are also big ones, and really I could be happy with any canon. Anyway, Steve sees Tony alive and gets to reflect on their relationship through the lens of these different versions of them. Maybe he even decides to settle down somewhere (early MCU?)

Endgame Steve has an encounter with 2012 Tony

(Anonymous) 2019-04-26 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
When Steve, Tony, and Scott go back to 2012 to steal the stones, Steve ends up running into the Tony of that time period. He's surprised to notice the way that Tony looks at him...

Endless love song

(Anonymous) 2019-04-26 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
The thing I always find creepy about Steve/Sharon (much as I like Sharon) is that she *reminds him of Peggy*: it's like one of those stories where the vampire, or the mummy, or whatever endless creature fixates on some innocent woman because he believes she's the reincarnation of his long-lost love.

So.

There's your set-up: Cap is an immortal being, a mummy, or a man under a curse, or, hell a sympathetic version of Strahd Von Zarovich if you think it'll work, who believes that some random woman he's met is the reincarnation of his long-lost, not-appearing-in-this-story, beloved.
He's sure of it, it must be true, they are Destined to be together.
And then Tony shows up.
And he's nothing like the Eternal Beloved.
And Cap falls head over heels.

Steve saves Tony

(Anonymous) 2019-04-26 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve uses the nanoparticle housing unit arc reactor thing Tony tossed at him in the beginning of the movie (because of course he carries Tony's heart around with him) to save Tony after he uses the gauntlet. Added bonus Steve has someone to come back to in the future after he returns the stones.

Tony Lives - Tony and Steve Happen

[personal profile] slvrbld47 2019-04-27 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Here's the thing, the original sorcerer supreme explained that they need the stones to not have a split off reality. Loki moved the tesseract though, and he lives, but what about Steve staying in the past? Are those the same changed reality or are there two of them? I mean what if Steven Rogers has children, and what about him not aging? So instead of an old Steve Rogers sitting there on that bench, a young Steve Rogers who slowly watched time pass and spent a life with Peggy sits there. Children optional. Hint: he's the one who gave Pepper a note that Tony would need some extra medical help.

So Pepper Potts carries around a dose of Extremis/nano particles, and using the stones doesn't kill Tony. Pepper/Tony having another child in an optional bid to save their relationship, but surprise, surprise with the return of half the world Pepper Potts is a CEO Again, and it was never going to last. Plus Tony's second life, and newish immortality have put a serious wrench in the works. Damn, he's young again and looks half her age, and a young Tony just being a house husband only holds while the kids are young not to go to school. The man can never not invent let alone more.

Guess which two superheroes wander into a relationship after all the crap they've been through, and then had lives, and wives, and kids, and still find themselves in the End: Together, Ironman, and Captain America. :D

AI Tony/Aged (or de-aged) Cap

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
So, I'm one of those people who stopped reading the comics during the whole Hydra!Cap horribleness, which meant I missed out on the thing of beauty that Tumblr tells me was AI Tony.

But the end of the Endgame strikes me as the perfect time for AI Tony to make his entrance: he's a genius, he's an AI building genius, he's an AI building genius who took the time to record a goodbye message not once, but twice during that one film: do we really believe for a moment that he *wouldn't* make a recording of his own memory and brain patterns and build a backup AI?

So, AI Tony tries to fit back into the world, to be there for his kid(s if you count Peter and Harley) and his friends and his wife...but things are stretched and awkward and Pepper can't see that he's really him, and she just keeps crying and *resenting* him and it's awful.

So he starts to give her some distance and on the way he runs into an old (very old now) friend.

Cap's had the best of both worlds: he got his life with Peggy, he gets to see his friends, he's *happy*, and now here's Tony looking so fragile and *lost* and, ok, he's kind of an electronic ghost, but this is them -they've seen weirder.

Cap could stay old or could be de-aged (no Kobik around to make things go wrong), Tony could stay an AI or reboot himself: if the comics could do it so can we, but either way, this looks like the start of something beautiful.

A trip into the Soul Realm

(Anonymous) 2019-04-28 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Post Endgame, Tony's a ghost (or a memory, or maybe he's alive but his body just isn't *there* any more) and Cap is an old man dreaming (or dying, or maybe he's just having an out of body experience?)... it's all a little Life On Mars around here.

Anyway, whatever's happening, they're somewhere very strange, things aren't entirely linear, memories and fantasies seem to be coming to life, and there are a couple of *very* familiar faces to be seen.

Can they get Natasha and Gamora out of the Soul Realm and back to their old lives again?
What will become of the things they're starting to feel for one another when they return to the relationships and the problems of reality?
And will there be anything of *them* left to go back to?

Morgan saves everyone

[personal profile] dyionisiac 2019-04-29 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Teenaged Morgan gets Aunt Cassie to give her some Pym particles so she can go back and saves her Dad. She somehow finds Steve was in love with him too. She decides to save them both.

Post-Endgame AU - Steve uses BARF tech

[personal profile] blipspan 2019-05-01 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
After Tony’s death, Steve returns the stones and comes back to the present (so, he’s not old). Somehow he comes across Tony’s BARF tech from Civil War, and uses it to basically watch himself reenact his memories of him and Tony, and maybe alters them. Like in a “what could have been”-type way. The memories can be canon or off-screen moments, and the alterations can range from confessions, to them getting down to smutty business, or it can just be Steve reliving his memories with no changes at all. It doesn’t even have to be multiple memories — just one gone differently would be awesome to read.

I’m not sure exactly how BARF works, as in, if Steve were to change how he acted in the situation, would Tony respond as he actually would, or as Steve would want him to? (Because iirc there’s some sort of headset Tony wore in CW that took his brain activity and visualized it — so does the situation just go down the way he *thinks* it would?)

Different post-space reunion

(Anonymous) 2019-05-07 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
An AU where Civil War went exactly the same, with the exception of (you guessed it) Tony and Steve having once kissed/had a one-night stand. Tony therefore does not get back together with Pepper, but rather he and Steve both remain single, pining for each other. The reunion between Steve and Tony in Endgame, when Tony gets back from space, therefore goes a little differently (in a good or bad way).
Bonus if there's still a scene of Tony chewing Steve out over CW. Double bonus if there's constructive dialogue in there somewhere.

Tony's not really dead, following Steve on his quest to return the Stones

(Anonymous) 2019-06-05 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
After using the gauntlet, Tony's consciousness becomes tied to the Stones; as a result, he is able to talk and communicate with Steve as he returns the Stones to the different points in time, following him on the journey. (Mutual pining, confessions, the possibility for a fix-it?

Endgame AU what if

(Anonymous) 2019-07-07 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
What if Tony never got married to Pepper, but had Morgan (I can only imagine this as Pepper being pregnant before the snap, but never got to tell Tony before Thanos came, and then died during childbirth and named Steve as the godfather.) So Tony moves away with Morgan and Steve practically lives there as well, having fallen in live with baby Morgan and not wanting to leave Tony's side after everything had happened. So in the 5 years that pass Steve and Tony have mended their relationship but aren't exactly dating yet (but are totally in love with each other)and then they go back in time, and in the scene where Steve sees Peggy in the past, he realises that he loved her, but that he's ready to move on, from her and the past, and as a symbol of this, leaves the compass he has with her picture on her desk before he leaves and goes to find his past and future, Tony. In the battle against Thanos, a full transition happens between Thor, Steve and Tony regarding their weapons. Steve wilds Thor's hammer to knock Thanos down, latter Tony uses the remaining part of Steve's shield, to shield himself and Steve from a hut from Thanos. He then uses the shield to lift Thanos' fist and collect the stones before Thanos knocks him down on top of Steve. When he snaps and nothing happens, he looks at Tony who has put the stones on his own gauntlet and delivers the line "And I am Ironman.", but then Tony launches his gauntlet towards Thor, who had recovered and gotten back on his feet by then. He grabs it and puts it on his hand. Tony then helps Steve up and Steve starts to say "And WE..." he and Tony then finish together "...are the Avengers." Then Thor smiles and whispers laud enough that only he and Thanos can hear "This os for my brother." And SNAPS. They all live, Tony and Steve FINALLY give in and kiss each other for the first time, they move in together and raise Morgan together and in a way Peter too (and soon enough get married.) A proper funeral is set for Black Widow and EVERYONE shows up to pay her proper respects. Steve goes back and returns the stones, but returns right away becouse he knows not to mess with time (BTW, when Thor snaps, he doesn't kill Thanos and his army, he just sends them back to their time and erases their memories so that the timeline isn't messed up.) Sam is the new Cap, Bucky congratulates Steve for his relationship with tony and having Morgan. Tony and Steve step down as superheroes and finally just focus on their family.
