This time of year, a lot of stores start putting out collection bins for holiday toy drives, so I wanted to take a moment to remind our community members that comic book trades make perfect donation gifts. They promote literacy in a fun way, they can spark an interest in art, and they just might turn a few of the uncorrupted youth into happy comic book geeks like us.

Last year we got some excellent suggestions on what trades might be enjoyable and appropriate for young people, including books like Marvel Adventures: Avengers, Spider-Girl, Runaways, the new Blue Beetle, Calvin and Hobbes, and many more. Look through it, drop by your favorite comic book shop or book store, and see if you can make a kid's holiday a bit more awesome.

If you have any other suggestions, please leave them in the comments.

Also, because I'm going to be bored in about four hours, tell me about any cool Avengers/comic book related gifts you've given or received.

My sisters complain if I put too many comic books on my wish lists, as they get bewildered inside of comic book shops apparently. Anyone else have this issue?

For those of you in the USA, can I get a Happy Thanksgiving? :D

¬.¬ Well then. Since the DW side is so lively, I thought I'd add to the noise by taking time out of NaNoWriMo to post some holiday cheer. Usually, I'd post it on AO3 and then link, but blast it, let's see some honest activity here! Rawr!
