muccamukk: Wanda walking away, surrounded by towering black trees, her red cloak bright. (Marvel: Modly Cap)

Hello and welcome to the weekly [livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman/[community profile] cap_ironman newsletter.

In comics this week, you can find Cap over in issue four of Van Lente's film tie-in Captain America: First Vengeance and in the first issue of Paul Jenkins' WWII adventure All-Winners' Squad: Band of Heroes (I'm not sure I've forgiven Jankins for "Fallen Sun" yet, but maybe this will be good, art looks nice, anyway). Meanwhile, Tony appears to be arguing with himself in Iron Age #1

With less than four weeks to go to the Cap movie (25 days actually, but who's counting?), Marvel publicity is really stepping up. I'm not going to start linking to cast interviews because basically if you throw a rock, you'll hit four of them. However, if you haven't already done so, all y'all should check out the new trailer (posted to the comm by [livejournal.com profile] manic_intent here.)

If you're starting to get confused by how all the Marvel Universe films fit together, Newsarama has put together a list of all the connections between Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Thor, with speculation about Captain America: The First Avenger. CBR has a discussion of the marketing approach taken by the Cap film (seems boil down to "leave them wanting more").

Titan books is releasing the autobiography of Cap co-creator Joe Simon. Check out IGN for an excerpt about his first meeting with Jack Kirby.

In sadder news, Marvel legend artist Gene Colan (who was my absolute favourite early Cap artist) died last week. He worked right up to the end, and I think we'll all miss him. Marvel has a nice write up on him here.

Not even bothering to cut the round up this week. I guess everyone's busy writing Charles/Erik finishing their big bang drafts.
[livejournal.com profile] saphirerose1986 recorded a podfic of [livejournal.com profile] penumbren's story Indellible, and [livejournal.com profile] penumbren turned it into a podbook.

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our warnings policy, so please read. If you're interested in the ship, you may want to read the Ship Manifesto, and consult the list of Slashy Moments (Now at one hundred and fifty moments). If you're planning to write for the comm, there are some tips on writing the pairing here, and the Avengers in general here; if you're having trouble finding a beta, or would like to offer your services as a beta, our beta list is here. If you're looking for the comm archive, it's Tales of Suspense, and it's automated - you can create an account and upload your fic. If you're looking for a particular story, why not try [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders? If you have any questions, you can comment here or PM a mod, that's me, [personal profile] garrideb and [personal profile] valtyr.

And feel free to post on-topic or off-topic stuff in the comments to this post! Just keep it reasonably safe for work, please.
