Title: Grace Period
Author: [livejournal.com profile] kroki_refur
Universe: Movieverse and 616
Rating: PG-13
Length: 4,224 words this chapter
Warnings: Period-appropriate but currently offensive words for marginalised groups. Comics-style timeline shenanigans. Mentions of character death.
Spoilers: Avengers movieverse: all the movies. Comics: 616 up to the end of the Secret Invasion.
Pairings/characters: Gen. Steve Rogers (movieverse); Tony Stark, Bucky Barnes, Peter Parker, Carol Danvers, probably others as it progresses (616).
Beta: None.
Notes: Avengers movieverse/616 crossover. I have not read all the Avengers-related 616 comics (because I only have one lifetime), so apologies for any canon mistakes or continuity errors.

Summary: If you've essentially travelled 70 years into the future, a tiny step back and to the side shouldn't be a big deal. As it turns out, though, it makes all the difference in two worlds.

Steve knows two things about the future: the war's over, and Peggy Carter is dead.
