Hello and welcome to the weekly [livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman/[community profile] cap_ironman newsletter.

First off all: Thank you all for reaffirming our modly mandate for another year. We really appreciate what a great comm you are.

Tonnes of news this week. I'll get the movie stuff out of the way first. Over at comicbookmovies, here's a concept art picture out for Iron Man 3 and comment from RDJ about the themes therein. Rumours about casting and timing for Avengers 2 are also starting to circulate.

Marvel main universe (616) is doing something that's neither a relaunch nor a reboot, but is more of a general reshuffling of teams and creators in the wake of AxV. We're assured that nothing will ever be the same again. There's been a lot of news about it in the past week, but Newsarama and CBR have round ups for you. What do you think? I'm hoping my few remaining titles don't get sucked in, but looking forward to some of the new stuff too.

Couple of round ups of older comics. Newsarama has 10 Best Captain America Stories, which I mostly agree with, though I would have included the brief Roger Stern one where they all go to England to fight vampires and the 9/11 issues that started off Volume Four. Marvel.com has the latest part in it's round up of early Iron Man comics

Who else is looking at this new Hot Toys Cap and making grabby hands? I know I am!

Finally, San Diego Comicon is coming up next weekend. Who's going. We (and by "we" I mean "not me") should arrange a meet up! Here's a run down of Marvel panels.

Wow! You people have had a busy week. )

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our header and warnings policies, so please read. If you're interested in the ship, you may want to read the Ship Manifesto, and consult the list of Slashy Moments (Now at one hundred and eighty moments). If you're confused by the whole universe thing, check out the multiverse info post. If you're planning to write for the comm, there are some tips on writing the pairing here, and the Avengers in general here; if you're having trouble finding a beta, or would like to offer your services as a beta, our beta list is here. If you're looking for the comm archive, it's Tales of Suspense, and it's automated - you can create an account and upload your fic. If you're looking for a particular story, why not try [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders? If you have any questions, you can comment here or PM a mod, that's me, [personal profile] garrideb and [personal profile] valtyr.

And feel free to post on-topic or off-topic stuff in the comments to this post! Just keep it reasonably safe for work, please.

Universe: mostly Movieverse, but I'm  making a lot of stuff up.
Rating: 13+ for language.
Beta: Patheticfangirl on Tumblr checked this one out, so a hundred kudos to her x3
Warnings:  Sexism. There's mentions of rape and torture, but nothing is actually shown or discussed. Just mentioned.
Summary: The marriage of Natasha Stark and Steve Rogers avoided the Civil War, but their story goes way further back than that. Natasha Stark isn’t Anthony Stark. Cause that one extra X chromosome matters.

(When Natasha Stark created the armor, she hadn’t the time to worry about design)

Title: Like Gene Kelly in the Movies, Part 1 of 2
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lyra_wing
Universe: movie!verse
Rating: PG-13, optional coda that is NC-17
Word Count: 6,300 for this part, about 12,000 total
Pairings/Characters: Steve/Tony, Avengers ensemble
Summary: Everything Tony Stark does is a dance. And it's super confusing for Steve.
A/N: Upon rewatching the Iron Man movies, it struck me how graceful Tony is, no matter what he's doing—be it in the lab, or in the suit, or just… walking around. Title is what it is because one of my favorite scenes from movie musicals is this one, from An American in Paris with Gene Kelly. (Ugh, Gene Kelly. Such a cutie, with such great physicality.)
