I dropped the ball last Sunday, and can't apologize enough. So so sorry!

If you're looking at joining marvel_bang, sign-ups end tomorrow, so get over there quickly! Tiny Reverse Bang was also announced, and the mods just posted a great introduction for new members, and for people looking for what the community offers.


Whether you want to come talk about your projects, share fanworks you want to rec, or just chat about Steve and Tony, this is the place for it. And remember, as always, lurkers are welcome.

Next chat is planned for Sunday, May 22nd. Don't forget that you can log into the irc channel at any point during the week. Normally, there will be other people around.

As a reminder we have a channel #cap-im-spoilers for conversations about new tv episodes, comic book issues and other spoilers. If no one is currently in there, just stop by the regular channel and let people know you want to talk about spoilers. :) To get to this channel use the same method you would for #cap-im but type #cap-im-spoilers instead; alternatively, once you are connected to IRC, type '/join #cap-im-spoilers' in the command line.

Whether you are new to the pairing and its history and feel overwhelmed by all the amazing fanworks that are out there or have been a fan of it long and are looking for some new recs, here are some places for you to get started.

Cap-IronMan Community

Lots of fanworks can be found posted right here on the cap_ironman community. You can browse them using the tags for medium, universe, creator, rating, etc..

You can also peruse the Cap/Iron Man Event Collections on AO3 if you prefer to read there (although note, that these only have the works posted to AO3 for these challenges and not necessarily all fanworks created for a single event), which will hold only stories that were created for specific events and not all works posted on the community:

If you are looking for recommendations, the cap_ironman community ran the “Recs Week” several times and we are planning to do so again in the future, collecting recommendations for fanworks our members enjoyed. To see all the fanworks that were recced by our users on these occasions you can browse the recs week tag or you can browse our rec week round up posts from previous rec weeks.

Other places to look for Steve/Tony fanwork recommendations and maybe share your own:

The now classic Steve/Tony Ship Manifesto lists recs for early fics written for the pairing.

There is a whole bunch of fanworks listed directly on the Steve/Tony fanlore page and there is a section that lists plenty of Steve/Tony rec lists around the net there, too. (Remember it’s a wiki project of the OTW that all fans can join in and help edit at any time. So if you think something is missing there, please don’t point it out to us, you can jump right in and help keep information on Steve/Tony fandom accurate and up to date yourself. But please mind the rules of fanlore if you do.)

The epic_recs community has a Steve/Tony tag for your browsing convenience. The focus of the community is on fic recs for longer fic, but shorter fics and other fanwork types are also recced on occasion.

Anyone can leave recs for the themed rounds at fancake . It’s a good place to share your enthusiasm. For browsing convenience they have a a Steve/Tony tag on their pinboard.

At bestthingever people are invited to share the new awesome fanworks they came across and want to rec right now. They too have a a Steve/Tony tag on their pinboard.

As we do not allow fic searches on the comm we want again point out that if you’re looking for a specific fic you once read or are looking for recs that include specific themes or tropes you like it’s a good bet to post your question to a fic search community like cap_im_search, cap_im_finders and avengers_search.

The Reverse Bang is posting and we’re all excited for the amazing works that still have to go up and about all the things we already got to look at! We hope everyone is having a good time with their own works, with feedback and with reading along.

September 28th: Drafts and summaries are due/writer sign-ups close
September 29th: Summaries are publicly posted
October 1st: Artists claim stories by summaries
October: Artists art, writers put finishing touches on their fics
October 31st: Teams pick posting date in November
November: Fics and art begin posting
