Community Gifts has finished collecting prompts, and now it’s time to create! Anyone is welcome to choose a prompt from the list assembled below and create a gift for it, whether or not you’re signed up for the main Holiday Exchange. Works created for these prompts, if submitted to the 2017 Holiday Exchange collection by December 26th, will be revealed and promoted as part of the exchange collection.

Rules:

- Gifts should be new and created solely for the 2017 Cap-Ironman Community Gifts, and not for any other fandom event.
- Gifts can be fics, art, poetry, music, fanvids, or any other type of fanwork.
- If you are a participant in the exchange, we ask that you complete your exchange gift before creating a community gift.
- This is a gift for the Cap-Ironman Community, so the prompts should be about Steve and Tony. In compliance with the community's event rules, non-Steve/Tony relationships or moresomes involving other characters are not allowed as focus of prompts or fills.
- No sign-up or claiming is required. So long as you post your gift to the collection by December 26th, with ‘Gift this work to’ set to ‘Cap Iron Man Community’, you’re good to go.

And most importantly:
No character bashing or negativity. Please - be excellent to each other ;)

If you have additional questions, please see the previously posted Community Gifts FAQ, and then ask here.

Cap-IM Community Gifts

If you have created a fill for the Cap-IM Community Prompts event, first of all--that's awesome, thank you!

You have two options for how to post your work to our annual AO3 Collection.

Option One:

You have to post new work as usual.

Fill in your tags and preface as usual. Please include the prompt you're writing for in your author's notes (at the beginning, or, if you're afraid about spoiling the work, at the end).

In the Associations part of the posting form, please mark that you're posting your work to whichever year of the Captain America/Iron Man Holiday Exchange that you are participating in. Please make sure you're not posting to the parent Collection.

If you start typing the collection title and the collection doesn't appear in the AO3 dropdown, please type in the exchange name (Cap_Ironman_Holiday_Exchange_YEAR-OF-EXCHANGE) and follow it by a comma immediately.
Collections not appearing in the dropdown is a common glitch, so don't worry if it happens to you!

In the "Gift this work to" section, please write in Cap Iron Man Community.

Then fill in the work body, click post as usual, and you're done!

Option Two:

Post your work to the Exchange collection directly through the Collection page by clicking the Post to Collection button.
It should lead you to the Post new work page for the Collection. Then proceed as above and gift your work to the community!.

When you're done, your work should look something like this:

Please note that before the reveals, the work will be listed as Anonymous. Don’t worry about it! It means everything’s right.
