Well I can see two costumes that no incantation of Tony and Steve's daughter will be wearing. Unless its over their dead bodies. *G*

What do you think Pandanaoi?

Very cool takes on the uniforms.

Oh god the fight if their daughter DID want to go out like that.
For halloween or something. Oh holy cow.

[identity profile] pandanoai.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
they'd be all "god why?? do you remember when she went as a moth? ::pines for the past:: oh teenagers! why?" \ o /

LMAO

[identity profile] kijikun.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Even as a Halloween costume they wouldn't let her out of the house! She'd have to call Aunt Jan to rescue her. Or Uncle Wolverine to point out just how little some of the X-girls are wearing.

[identity profile] pandanoai.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
::giggles:: niiiiiiceee.... and yeah... that would be a RESOUNDING NO from both Steve and Tony :P

[identity profile] kijikun.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Maria's in my head saying that those costumes are not practical at all and she would never wear them though both her and Franklin would like sets of armor please.

Oddly the female!Cap uniform looks very much like America Dreams uniform. Girl!Bucky just looks uncomfortable.

and I need some happy ATR icons

[identity profile] pandanoai.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
:O yes you do! you could have one of her shopping with jan! (somehow) :P

[identity profile] kijikun.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
That would be fun! ^_^

It would be stick figures if I drew it though. I fail at drawing. ;_;

[identity profile] kijikun.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
It's going to be a while before Maria understands the uses of that sort of distraction. Granted it might be around the same time Franklin figures out she's you know a girl.

[identity profile] kijikun.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Poor Franklin he has no clue why Maria gets upset when he blows off hanging out to go on dates with girls from the Xaviers' or why he wants to punch the first guy she seriously dates. No clue at all. Not that I have planned that far out. No. Really, I haven't. *innocent smile*

Any conversion between Reed and Franklin about girls probably usual ends with both of them being distracted by SCIENCE and forgetting what they were talking about or Reed suggesting building her some gadget 'It work with your mother'.

And Sue shakes her head and wonders why Franklin had to take after his father so much.

[identity profile] ani-bester.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Girl!Bucky just looks uncomfortable.

I give the artist creativity points though for working in the chest flap.
And making it clingy.

I don't think I'd have come up with that.
Granted I don't know that I'd have though of a metal thong either. Why WHY does the armor have a thong?

[identity profile] ouri.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Probably in honor of Tony's infamous red thong? XD

[identity profile] kijikun.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Well it be more original that rising to devour brains.

[identity profile] ani-bester.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
. . . Does Iron Woman have pulsar cannons in her on her breasts (plates)?
Not that I can't see the possibilities of such weaponry, especially at bars.
That beats Girl!Caps two stars. And Becky . . Blonde?

In the last picture, OH my gosh look at that face plate emote! WOW!
Tony is so heart broken his anguish is actually distorting the metal.

. . . in all seriousness it's a great picture and thank you for posting it. I just had to poke fun =P

[identity profile] serenity-winner.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Oh god, Tony's a femmebot.

[identity profile] cygna-hime.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
...I'm sorry, I'm sure they're lovely images, and I am completely in support of Female!Cap and Tony, but--sweet mother of God get yourself a bra, woman!! And get one for Becky, too, while you're at it. That can't be comfortable, especially not while trying to run away from and/or fight people shooting at you.

Yes, yes, I know they're pinups, but pinups of heroes in costume should look like heroes in costume being sexy, not like...not heroes, and definitely not in costume. Also, I'm distracted by the incredible discomfort they must be feeling. (How does the armor's spine even bend that way?)

[identity profile] cygna-hime.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
But they fight Nazis, and Nazis are evil, so...well, let's just say that if I were fighting Nazis, I would wear all available protective gear, and a chastity belt. Just in case. And I would wear a bra. Heck, I don't fight Nazis, and a bra is still not an optional article of clothing. There's this whole 'bounce factor' that hurts. A lot.

...But Tony's spine doesn't bend that way either! Fer cryin' out loud, either go for the breast shot or the ass shot (I vote for the former), don't break Tony's spine (again) trying for both at once!

re: plausible breast AND asshot

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
A female version of Tony...in Marvel Zombies!

Not even Crossbones?

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Who is a canon nazi rapist by the way, yikes. I think the distract them with boobs trick in Austin Powers would ONLY work on the A.I.M. HYDRA is probably gay...

I really wish that there is more plausible sexy, like in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where they wear sexy yet practical, durable leather coats, with jeans, and ornate crosses! Then afterwards they might wind down at the Bronze in miniskirts and tight leather pants.

Re: Not even Crossbones?

[identity profile] cygna-hime.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Thing is, I find Cap pretty damn hot in uniform as a guy--so I see no reason why Cap as a woman would look any less hot. Because "sexy", actual sex appeal, works at least as well when the person is completely clothed.

Also, I just can't find anything sexy about a combat uniform that's screaming "Shoot my in the torso! Cut my femoral arteries! Grab me by the hair and yank my head back to cut my throat!" Corpses are not sexy, or at least I do not find them so, and women who are obviously dressed only to be sex objects even less so. "Sexy yet practical" all the way.

Re: Not even Crossbones?

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Now that I've actually think about it, what the female 'Cap' is wearing is probably what the Nazi camp might have their hookers wear. (I read something about the Prostitutes around the Gaza strip, dressing in the combat uniforms of The Enemy to attract psychotic customers who is probably fantasying about rape and equating sex to conquest, yay (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Fail)!)

In terms of sexy yet practical, I love all the clothes that Sharon Carter was wearing in Captain America: Red Menace, both she and Steve was practically dressed, and still radiated sexy. When Steve was dreaming, there was an image of Sharon posing seductively, but not in an uncomfortable pose, in her black body hugging outfit that was way sexy. I wish I can find a scan of that image. This one is close (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/9d/Agent13.jpg/150px-Agent13.jpg), but the black one was sexier, and didn't have the skin windows which makes no sense. The shoulders could be rubbed raw if she was thrown and skids across the ground, which happens.

Interestingly enough, while I was image googling for Sharon Carter, I came across this:

Image

Exploitive yes, but at least it's still realistically sexy...and wow. That looked like it could have been traced out of gay porn (again). It looks like he could have been sitting on the lap of someone who's holding his arms back.

Re: Not even Crossbones?

[identity profile] cygna-hime.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
...I think we're overthinking the porn. Not that I object to this. It's good to know I'm not the only one doing it. I mean, lovely outfits for a spot of roleplay with a significant other, but the last thing I'd want the public at large, let alone the Nazis I was fighting, to see me in. Aside from the fact that I'd look terrible in it.

I just drew a sketch of Cap as a woman, in his standard costume, and (allowing for lack of artistic ability) it definitely does not reduce the sexy factor one iota. Not only would I not kick her out of bed, but she'd better lock her bedroom door, because I'd crawl into hers in a heartbeat.

The Stripperific costumes are almost forgiveable for characters who have super-durability, because they're significantly tougher than any clothing you could put them in anyway, but for those like Sharon who just practice a lot, it's silly. (Among other things, no one in hand-to-hand combat should be not wearing some serious chest protection, any more than a male character who fights hand-to-hand should ever be not wearing a cup. F'rex, female fencers wear at the bare minimum metal discs in special pockets in their jackets, and more commonly a plastic chest plate.) A female character would expect to take as much damage as their male equivalent, and when was the last time Cap fought with his shoulders and half his chest bare?

...Hey there, Tony. Sentient armor interested in getting back together with you again? 'Cause, um, yeah. (But notice how he doesn't have random cutouts, his skin is completely albeit skin-tightly covered, and he isn't uncomfortably twisted to show maximum fetish fuel?)

Re: Not even Crossbones?

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Overthinking porn again, sometimes I wonder if the super fetishized women are featured as Overcompensation, considering how many beautifully rendered hoyays there are in comics, and how you get quite a few covers and scenes like the one above, featuring male characters, in a way that is actually sexy compared to the supposingly sexy way that female characters are portrayed. (...and I speak this as someone who is attracted to men and women)

Speaking of skin tight covering, isn't the underarmour actually almost like Tony's skin now? It's not something he takes off. So how much can he feels with it on and I wonder if he can have sex in it? Ha.

Re: Not even Crossbones?

[identity profile] elspethdixon.livejournal.com 2008-11-18 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
how much can he feels with it on and I wonder if he can have sex in it? Ha.

You are not the first person to have wondered that. I wonder, when Steve touches it, is it cool (like metal) or warm/hot, because it's extruded by Tony's body?

[identity profile] th3newblack.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Cap's hair/mask confuses me so much, wut. Breast cannons are pretty amazing, though.

[identity profile] ani-bester.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
not only you

Maybe the hair is a wig on over the mask?

re: wig

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
That could have been a cool idea. Not just ordinary fake hair, but really sharp wire, so that when people grab it they will cut their hands...though you might not want to make it long enough to whip yourself in the face.

[identity profile] delanynder.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
*delurks* It's from Runaways. The first issue, I believe. It's not edited, but it's not actually Cap. It's someone playing as him in an online game. */helpful?* *goes back to lurking*

[identity profile] th3newblack.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously, that's from the first issue? And I read like every issue up until the past 5 or so. BAD FAN, BAD FAN.

If Tony was a woman but Steve is still a man

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
I was just wondering what the Tony and Steve interaction would have been like, if Tony was a woman, but that Steve had remained a man. I've seen two genderswaps where they've both switched, the one just posted, and the one by [livejournal.com profile] wired_lizard, but I have to see male Steve and female Tony, or vice versa. It's like that in the universe of [livejournal.com profile] girltony, but not romantic so far.

There has been ones where, Tony as a man, wondering if Steve might love him if he was a woman in fics...but if Tony had been a woman, Tony would be different. Steve didn't have problem working with women, or dating women like Sharon who's an active agent. Would they have gotten as close friends as they have in canon though, had the possibility of romance been open to them, and interpreted to by those around them, from the beginning?

Would a Tony who was born a woman, allow herself to love or trust Steve? Sometimes it's easier to be in the submissive role, to crave the submissive role, if you are the one who is usually in power, has power. Tony Stark usually has power, as male and white and rich. Though Steve is stronger physically, and has a lot of friends, Tony has a lot of social influence as the head of Stark industries to balance it out. Had Tony been a woman, subtly pressured and has her authority challenged all her life, would she let go that easily? In Gone With The Wind, Scarlett O'Hara couldn't even meet Rhett Butler halfway.

I believe that more than a male Tony Stark, one who was born a woman would have to be more wary of men who wanted her for her money as she grows older, or seen her as an easy lay.

Re: If Tony was a woman but Steve is still a man

[identity profile] liarashadowsong.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen a fic with female Tony and male Steve, but I forget where, because otherwise I would give you a link to it right now. I have not seen a fic with female Steve that was not either a temporary result of magic or where both Steve and Tony are female. ...I was actually planning on writing one of those (female Steve, male Tony AU) myself, but it's still way in the planning stages. I posted an outline of how I was planning on making the whole female super-soldier in WWII thing work and such somewhere in a comment, but I don't remember where. Much more research on Iron Man, Captain America, and other aspects of 616 and other Marvel canons, as well as research about WWII is needed before anything goes down on paper. If it ever gets written, I'll put a link into this community, though. ^_^ [/shameless plug for something wanted to write just because it does not really seem to exist yet *3*]

re: costumes

[identity profile] hohaiyee.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
I like the fanon version of the genderswapped costumes posted here so far, than the canon, which is Too Much, and really not fashionable on account of being waaay too gaunty.

I rather like the top part of Bucky's outfit though, but plain cargo or khaki pants should compliment a showy top like that. The problem with showing too much skin (or using too much colours on your face) is that the viewer's eyes won't know where to go.

[identity profile] elspethdixon.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
OMH, that is made of awesome. I think my favorite is actually the genderswapped Hellboy picture on the site (becase, she, at the risk of a bad pun, is smokin' hot).

Femmebot Tony is actually a little too thin and attenuated-looking -- though it amuses the heck out of me that girl!Cap's nipples are visible through the leather & chainmail top.

Am I the only one who thought, "Hey, why isn't Bucky a brunette?" (and also the only one who kind of wants to see leather catsuit & cyborg arm girl!Winter Soldier?)
Edited 2008-11-15 03:50 (UTC)

[identity profile] kelmendi.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think that there's room for a person inside the Femmebot Iron Man! (Besides, I really think that if Tony was a girl, the Iron Man armor would look exactly the same as it does now. It's not like a robotic suit needs D-cups and wide, child-bearing hips. Plus, it would make maintaining a secret identity easier, and lead to delicious identity porn. Mmm....)

Am I the only one who thought, "Hey, why isn't Bucky a brunette?"

Nope! Also, they don't seem to know that The Midnighter is blond.

...And apparently Gambit is considered to be universally attractive as is.
Edited 2008-11-15 04:04 (UTC)

[identity profile] smilingskull.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally noticed the Bucky thing too. Like, even before I got anywhere near looking at girl!Steve, I was like "... but Bucky has brown hair. D:"

I'm less bothered about the Midnighter one, because he's had red, blonde, and dark and light brown hair at various points in the comics. It's canon that he dyes it. :)

[identity profile] liarashadowsong.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
I think that if Tony Stark was a woman, she would probably make the armor look exactly the same outside and still go by Iron Man. Certainly makes keeping a secret identity easier, y/y? Also, The Midnighter canonically has had his hair dyed blond, brown, and red. I think I heard somewhere his natural hair color is red, though I suppose only Apollo knows for sure, if you catch my drift.

[identity profile] johanirae.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
This is were a comic artist gets so obsessed with tits that the costumes don't make sense. Tony's chest glow piece had originated from being blown to bits and needed an arc reactor there to help. So now we have, er, a Iron Woman with... what, two arc reactors or something?

[identity profile] liarashadowsong.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
I think they're extra weapons, duplicates of what is on her hands. FemBot armor! But yeah, kinda silly looking. I mean, I don't even think there's space for the innards of the armor in there. Also, Steph's two stars look dumb, beyond the other issues (I'm going with the cascade of hair being a wig attached to the mask and her having a crew cut underneath, for one thing). And poor Bucky needs a bra and longer shorts, to say the least. -_-U There are better ways to have the outfits look sexy. I mean, a female Captain America just needs to have the same outfit as male Captain America, only re-tailored to fit a woman; I certainly think Steve is plenty hot in his uniform in canon, so why should a genderswapped version be any different?
