Cap's Got a Pair of Writers

FYI~ AvengerNews posted this earlier: Cap's movie's got itself some shiny writers!

As we already know, Joe Johnston (The Rocketeer, October Sky) will be in the directors chair for the upcoming Captain America movie The First Avenger: Captain America. I think this is a good choice considering his filmography as well as the tone attached to a character like The Captain. Now, The Hollywood Reporter is, um, reporting, that the will be penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (The Chronicles of Narnia). Hey, look, they won an Emmy. Now, I still have not seen either of the Narnia films, but I’ve heard some good things. At least they can handle a period film as well as something of epic scope. This is shaping up pretty well.

Well yeah the Narnia director didn't work for me as far as adapting the Narnia books goes (in fact he worked so badly I refuse to see any more adaptions of these books from the current vein. But I could completely see how that style might work in for the Captain America movie.

But it was mostly about the writers.
The writing on October sky and Rocketeer IMHO fits better with what I'd want in a Cap movie than the writing for Narnia :(

Band of Brothers makes EVERYTHING better.

I suspect it works both ways though. I've seen some movie with good directing that just didn't salavage the script, but yeah bad directing can also ruin an excellent script.
Personally though, I have an easier time getting past directing if the writing is good. ^__^

And yes those who did Band of Brothers should consult . . . I'd suggest Spielburg (sp) should consult by Ellyr might kill me =P
