Question

Ok so long story short, I and [livejournal.com profile] ellyr_in_ink were looking up the invaders and in the wiki article on them down at the bottom there was this info about the current 2008-2009 series:

Basically we are both now going WTF and wondering if anyone as more into on the invaders series because -

According to Ross, who will be doing covers and design work for the series, it is a series that will return the young WW2 Captain America (Steve Rogers) to modern continuity, along with the other four original Invaders created in 1940s: Human Torch, Toro, Bucky, and Namor.

Wha? We had thought Time Traveling Steve was temporary. Is he staying? Does that mean this is how they are bringing Steve back and he and Tony will have to start all over from scratch. We are currently very very confused. Help?

In conclusion, should we be buying this?

I don't think they'd use WWII!Steve as their way of bringing him back. After all, it's a different set of writers, isn't it? (Please tell me it is!) And Brubaker really seems to be focusing in fleshing out Bucky as the new Captain America. So it won't be a while until we see Steve really come back (now, when it gets time for the Captain America movie to be released, then we need to start worrying/wondering).

WWII!Steve could have some PART in bringing present!Steve back... after all, there was that whole business with taking AU!Tony's heart for 616-Tony or something complicated like that.

Anyways, time traveling Steve is most likely just temporary for this mini issue... especially if he has Bucky with him. That would cause A LOT of problems for the current Bucky, who seems to have enough on his plate already.
