The New Captain America/Iron Man Slashy Moments List

In for the last two years, this list has been maintained by the totally awesome crimsonquills (original here, with reposts here and here). Ze has, however, migrated to another fandom, leaving the comm. I have volunteered to maintain it from here on in.

Last time Tony made Steve a new shield, he tried it out in the training room. I have no idea why he immagined the living room was a good idea.

It's kind of borderline on the slashy, but Tony did put a lot of his company resources into making the thing, and it sets up moment #100 really well.

...Wow, should not have read that (you rock, Ms. Marvel). I wonder if Cap ordering a guard to undo his restraints so that he can salute (and be the only one doing it) can count as a slashable moment.

The floating "what a man!" thought bubble in Avengers #214 kills me every time. It's so classically "enthusiastic appreciation of male hotness" in tone that I'm tempted to ascribe it to Tigra (since she's the only person present who could be admiring Steve's hotness in a heterosexual way), but the only person doing an inner monologue in that panel is Tony, and it does seem to logically follow his "Oh, Steve! You put us all to shame! *swoon* *sigh*" thoughts.

Avengers Annual #1: Tony can't stop thinking about how wonderful Steve is. (I think this goes between moments 25 and 54, chronologically.)

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Tony has the most epic crush in the history of the world.

Doesn't he, though? *g* I'm back to reading through the old Avengers stuff, so I'll try not to swamp you... But here's one from Steve's POV: Even Quicksilver can see how much Steve worries about Tony. (Avengers v.1 #46, immediately after the Annual moment I just posted.)

Swamp away. We need more early moments. The list is very heavily weighted to the more recent stuff because more people have read it.

Also, wtf is Steve wearing?

The early stuff is so much fun, too! About ten more issues of the Avengers, and then I'm off to play back and forth between that series, Iron Man, and Captain America... so much cheesy 60s greatness!

I believe it's a really very stylish plaid/checked/something or other green suit. (Stylish for the time, anyway...) Because, y'know, a suit is de rigeur when you're going to take in a baseball game... *snerk*

Okay, a few more early ones:
Avengers v.1 #14: Tony keeps Steve from falling... by holding his hand.
Avengers v.1 #16: Tony announces that he's leaving the Avengers (for the first time). Steve assures him he'll always have a place with them. One Two Three

These come between #25 and #54, too.

ETA: I realised one of my favourite moments isn't on the list! No!! :)
Tales of Suspense #95: Steve retires as Captain America (a.k.a. the "money" conversation).

And: Avengers v.1 #7: Steve wants to help Iron Man with his problems.

The ToS moment is the latest of all the ones I've posted, I think, and the Avengers #7 is the earliest.
