The New Captain America/Iron Man Slashy Moments List

In for the last two years, this list has been maintained by the totally awesome crimsonquills (original here, with reposts here and here). Ze has, however, migrated to another fandom, leaving the comm. I have volunteered to maintain it from here on in.

Swamp away. We need more early moments. The list is very heavily weighted to the more recent stuff because more people have read it.

Also, wtf is Steve wearing?

The early stuff is so much fun, too! About ten more issues of the Avengers, and then I'm off to play back and forth between that series, Iron Man, and Captain America... so much cheesy 60s greatness!

I believe it's a really very stylish plaid/checked/something or other green suit. (Stylish for the time, anyway...) Because, y'know, a suit is de rigeur when you're going to take in a baseball game... *snerk*

Okay, a few more early ones:
Avengers v.1 #14: Tony keeps Steve from falling... by holding his hand.
Avengers v.1 #16: Tony announces that he's leaving the Avengers (for the first time). Steve assures him he'll always have a place with them. One Two Three

These come between #25 and #54, too.

ETA: I realised one of my favourite moments isn't on the list! No!! :)
Tales of Suspense #95: Steve retires as Captain America (a.k.a. the "money" conversation).

And: Avengers v.1 #7: Steve wants to help Iron Man with his problems.

The ToS moment is the latest of all the ones I've posted, I think, and the Avengers #7 is the earliest.

It's been a marathon comic-reading weekend...
Captain America v.1 #112: The entire issue is Tony reliving Cap's glory days in a sort of eulogy... but this in particular: Tony nearly breaks down upon hearing of Steve's death.

Okay, how many funerals has Steve had? There's that one, the one in the late four hundred run of volume one, one during Heroes Reborn, and the one after CW?

I... think that's it. More than Tony Stark and less than Duncan McLeod.

ROFL! I love the analogy there. I'm not sure if he actually makes it to a funeral with this one -- I won't be reading the follow-up issue until tomorrow. Tony rambles on and on and on and on about Cap's adventures while he's "closing his file"... after the moment I posted up above.

Somewhere, I hope there's someone who makes a living just out of making gravestones for superheroes. They'd be rich. Seriously. "What, Mr. Stark again? That's the second one this year..."

I wouldn't dare spoil what happens at in the next issue, save that it's hilarious and awesome.

I think when I did the sweep through the early stuff that you're doing now, I wasn't looking for slashy moments, then when I was I could never find anything again. I appreciate the time you're taking to pick them out.

Ooh, now I'm tempted to stay up too late reading. Again. Darn you. :)

I'm having a blast reading the early stuff. I'm fairly OCD about new obsessions interests, so a few months ago I managed to acquire the original Tales, Iron Man, Cap, and Avengers volumes. Now that I've figured out ComicRack enough to sort it all by year, it's going a bit quicker... and in between fits of giggling at the dialogue (oh, lord, the dialogue....) it's been great fun seeing all the little 'moments' these two have had.

You're right, the next issue was hilarious and awesome. I absolutely love the image of Cap on his motorcycle, coming up over gravestones... XD

I'm not sure that this counts as truly slashy, but I wonder if it's not worth putting up there anyway: Tony wasn't the first one to recognize him, but his was the first voice Cap actually heard. (Avengers v.1 #4) It's certainly a nice setup for any number of flashback lines in fic... :)

Avengers v.1 #82: Even in a room large enough for eight Avengers and Daredevil, Steve can't stay away from Tony.

Avengers v.1 #93: What personal space? (And where exactly is Iron Man's other hand, anyway?)
Same issue: Cap tries to raise Iron Man's spirits while supporting his weight.

And a change of pace. (These ended up kinda... big. If you want them differently, I can redo them. :)
New Avengers v.2 #1: Steve tries to convince the New Avengers to officially reform. Tony has his back. (And the NAs can't have Tony.) One Two
